Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

I've seen in a few FAQS that if you leave DL and then immediately enter DCA within 15 minutes it can cause problems. Can anyone confirm/deny this? If so is there a proper method to do this?
We have EMH from the Grand on 2 of the days we are there, and were hoping to enter DL and then go to DCA for a bit before park opening and then try to get the boarding passes while at DCA. Is this feasible?

I know there have been issues in the past but I think with ROTR, the process has changed. I’ve scanned in to DL and then exited and gone to DCA 4 times now, no issues. The first time I mentioned what I was doing but they looked at me like I had 2 heads. I’ve not mentioned it since and no flagging/issues.

My coworker is there and got BG 39 yesterday and loved the ride. I hope he got one today, too!

Good luck to all!

Today worked out awesome for us, the ride was AHmazing, and now the park is bananas crowded!

6:30 in Toy Story lot
On first bus
6:49 off bus
6:55 through security ( no line) and in line, back under monorail
7:16 gates open (line was now touching DCA gates)
7:25 in park (Just unlucky and got the worlds slowest CM at our gate)
8:00 Got group 31 from Jolly Holiday patio
On Verizon data, not wifi
First groups called 10-14 about 9:08
BG 31 called 9:40
In line 9:45
First show room 10:20
Off ride 10:40

Cool, thanks to yourself and the other poster who replied.
I suppose I'll just have to try it the first day and if it doesn't work then we'll just skip EMH the second day we have it.

Good luck. On days with 61 regular groups, we have not yet made it to 100 groups called. The three times it has happened they've gone from 11-86, 10-105, and 14-98. However each of those days started later than today...

This seems to be a signal that they are expecting a rough day. Hopefully it doesn't come to pass.
Or, hey, maybe they just wanted to fake us out. 121 with 3+ hours to go. 8 hours continuous operation. I wonder how many they issued today.

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation as to why you muct be scanned into DL, as opposed to DCA, in order to get a boarding pass. You can make FP via MaxPass for DL without ever scanning in. I know it's a different system, but it shows they are compatible. It would be nice because that would also spread out the crowds and lines some.

I know it's the way it is and nothing I can do will change it. It would just be easier to accept if I had a valid reason why.

I think it is to give everyone a fair chance of snagging a boarding pass.

The weather forecast tomorrow calls for heavy rain throughout the day in Anaheim, so I bet the boarding groups don't run out as quickly tomorrow.

So I snagged BG 92 this morning at 8:01am and that worked great. I was trying for a later BG because I had to run out for business meetings. Got back from my meetings at 3:30. My BG window was 2:55-4:55. I got in line for ROTR at 4:20. Was off by 5:10. My third ROTR ride in three days. Today I rode solo. Now I am likely done for quite some time before I will be back to DLR or WDW. Headed home tomorrow. :)

I'm glad your trilogy is complete.

I look forward to being a sequel at some point :)

So, as we head into the likely final hour, we're limping along at 2/3 of the normal rate. Still looks like a good day overall, despite the late start and the low number of regular BGs they have not had a stoppage all day as far as I can tell, which would be a first for a full day of operations here out West. I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped at 140 or 145 or 150, though.

Meanwhile, our East Coast brethren had another rough day calling 96 groups. Perhaps the "A-team" is back in effect?

I'm curious, but how would making everyone go to DL instead of spreading out between both parks give everyone a fair chance at a boarding pass?

Everyone has to activate their ticket in Disneyland (I think it is because Disney knows how crappy their WiFi is throughout the resort and having everyone start at the same place seems fair). Some people who have MM/EE have entered, then exited. Some stayed in DTD, the esplanade, went into DCA, or went to one of the hotels for breakfast to try to retrieve a boarding pass. Some people only have tickets to DL, so, to make sure there is a somewhat fair chance anyone can get a boarding pass, having to have DL ticket activated seems to be the fairest chance.

Looking at Twitter, apparently last night the attraction broke down just after 9pm, and it took them until after 10:15pm to get it back up for the remaining riders and folks who were evacuated. This explains the late start today as well as possibly the low number of bgs, since they were over an hour late going into maintenance.

It would seem that we are done at BG 141, or 132 groups called. A decent day to be sure, I think we assume that 141 was all they issued. That would be just about 11 and a half hours of straight operation today, so I think we call that a kind of progress even if throughput wasn't cranked up.

Hopefully tonight with the early finish they will be able to get back on schedule for tomorrow. Even so, they had a good day today. I guess it is a good thing that we now look at a 132BG day and say it's just a good day and not a great one.

I'm glad to hear you made it today. I was wondering. :)

If you look in our FAQs (page one, post one of this superthread -- "How do I join a Boarding Group?"), you'll read that this isn't a problem. Several DISers have answered, telling you that it isn't a problem now (was a few weeks ago, but Disney seems to have gotten a handle on this).

Group 12!!!! I may have tears in my eyes
So happy for you! All your practicing at home paid off big time!

BG 11 while riding Peter pan
Boarding group 15 -while- on Peter Pan. Apparently we were living dangerously this morning! We were second in line for Peter Pan, so that just happen.
Whoa! You guys just raised the DIS bar up a bunch of notches! Tandem BGs while riding PP?! The Force is beyond strong with you two!

Left Tropicana at 7, through super long bag line on Harbor by 7:15ish, tried to add MaxPass onto my FlexPass with a gift card and failed miserably, the line we went into moved nicely and we were through the gates by 7:54. Bought maxpass the regular way and made a Big Thunder FP. Wandered over to RRT and got BG 33!!!...
In order to buy MP with a gift card, people have posted that you need to go to a ticket booth, City Hall, or Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations on getting a BG!

My friends got boarding group 19! I got the error message and had to close and reopen the app!
Yay for your friends! So glad that worked out for them!

This is progress, indeed. And I love the perspective and wisdom that age brings (since we're at a whopping "almost 2 whole months" with our ride!) -- a month ago, 132 BGs would have been impressive. Still is, in its own way. We're making real progress here!
