Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

What types of phones do you and your posse have? My understanding is that your suggestion works for iPhones but is a bad idea for Androids.

:wizard:

Nope, we both have Androids- a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 and a Samsung Galaxy 6 (both old phones by today's standards, even!). Each phone secured a BG under 30 using that method.

If you have an iPhone, sure. On Android, going from FOM to MS can work, but if the button is not active the first time you go in to MS, you are in a restart situation. Refreshing does not work on this screen for android. However, to be fair, I have not tried that approach since the app update, so it might be worth a test tomorrow...

We both have androids, as I just replied to @HydroGuy.

Everyone should play around with it before going and do what they're comfortable with.

I want to add that the reason I did the "My Status" method at park opening was because I started to NOT get the red/orange button on the screen after "Find out More" when I was playing at home a week before my trip and that screen does not refresh, at least for me.

It seems that different phones/platforms react in different ways/timing and practicing a little at home beforehand will go a long way to make you more comfortable and I highly recommend that.

Back to cruising mode :) 28 group spread -

Interested to see how they will honor expired BGs. consistently or not.

That's a great question. Seems like if the attraction goes down and you aren't in line, the story you get from CMs is "Come back anytime today."

We're at 103 now with about 5 hours to go in regulation.

DHS just hit 140 groups called with about half an hour to go.

Be wary of Mynocks, Jawas, and Tuscan Raiders.

Exactly what we were told 2 days ago . We were holding a BG 18 , and didn’t get back until about .........oh , 7-8 pm . Still no prob , got right in .
Just one word of warning ....... if you go past your BG # calling , it will dissapear , so TAKE SCREEN SHOTS OF YOUR BOARDING GROUP #’S !

Report back!

When I was going through security the sign that BGs were gone was already out. I asked the guard when they put it up and he said it was only 10 minutes before. This was around 1PM. He said the place was a ghost town at opening.

DHS is done at 146, a really good day. They started at bg 2, so that's 145 called.

Edit: They pulled an audible and called two more groups half an hour before closing. 148 (147 called)

Meanwhile, we're at 118, calling at over 20 groups per hour over the last two hours and apparently refusing to slow down. I can't watch...and I can't not watch...

I'm probably going for a few hours on Saturday morning, so I'll be able to compare it with last Saturday, when things were absolutely packed. It would not surprise me if attendance is down due to the virus.

Evidently Disney has predicted low crowds this weekend. CMs were blocked from guest sign in this weekend, and now it is opened back up.

I am for sure going Saturday for my first shot ever at ROTR. I recommend everyone else stay home where it is safe. :stir:

I will be there too! Not passing up a chance when we're staying onsite!

I totally agree with this sentiment. Every phone is a little different and a little practice can make the difference between being calm in the face of an error and freaking out and missing it altogether. Additionally, as we are seeing the updates do change the behavior of the app, so it is a good idea to practice in the days leading up to a visit.

But best practice for those who have not had the chance to figure everything out, though, the thing that seems to work with the most phones for the most people, is to wait until OPO to tap FOM. And if no joy, tap MS. And if no joy, maybe go back and forth once or twice to see if you get lucky and if not close out and start again. YMMV.

I think a very good indicator will be whether they open up the Flex Pass on Saturday for DL. Last I looked, it was still showing as unavailable.

Well, they're going like gangbusters. Now the best 9am open on record. Also the best day of combined groups between DHS and DL on record. And with over an hour to go in regulation, we are only 3 groups off of an all time high despite 2 hour plus downtimes today. The only question now is how many groups they distributed...
