My cousin and I both went to Hollywood Studios this morning. Due to a glitch I got boarding group 60 for just myself.

since then we hopped to Epcot.

I have zero interest in the ride, so would like to give her my band so so can hop back to HS and ride the ride using my band.

will this be possible? Or will they somehow know my band wasn’t scanned back into Hollywood Studios?? I’m hoping to stay at Epcot when she does this.

please help! Thanks!!

I think you should be able to ride using her band. She scanned this morning to get on a Boarding Group, that is what is important for being in the park.

The concern is the OP is the one that got the boarding group but wants to give up the magic band to their cousin while they stay at epcot.

Sure, she can use your band to scan at the ride entrance. No issue at all. Obviously she also needs her own band to get back in DHS. You don’t need to go back with her.

Bigger issue is them getting to 60, but with any luck it probably will (currently at 47 with 5 park hours left). BGs have been progressing very slowly today.

You would both need to go to the park together as they scan finger prints. After that, just give the band to the one that wants to ride it so it can be scanned for the ride.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think the cousin is going to try to enter the park with the OPs band, just use it for the ride. In theory, if the OP were to hand over their band and not use it again until meeting back up with the cousin, which also means they couldn't park hop, then with a Fast Pass, this would work. I'm not sure on ROTR, with the whole "needs to be in park to get boarding group" tech in use, it might or might not work, depending on whether or not it needs to register the OP coming back into the park to validate the boarding group.

Only way to be sure would be to go try it. If it works, fine. If it doesn't, it's not like the OP or cousin is any worse off than they were now. The OP doesn't want to ride it, and the Cousin doesn't have a Boarding Group, so it's not like they're losing anything by trying it out, except maybe the cousin's time of park hopping.

We did this no issues. But part of our party stayed at MK.

Nope.
Guest ENTERS with her own MB (and finger scan.)
Then, only uses the "borrowed" MB at the attraction entrance.
No problems.

I was reading about people that had the MDE flagged/locked out when they would be in one park but have their MB scanned at a FP station in another park without scanning into the actual park itself.

The DHS "Boarding Pass system" will not know that the MB had ever left the DHS park (as it had been scanned into DHS earlier in the day in order to book the Boarding Pass.)

All depends on how the system has been programmed. The OP stated they were currently in Epcot, so the MB would have been scanned into another park. If the systems are interconnected, then the act of entering another park may invalidate the ‘presence’ of the band in the first park.

As it should. Thanks for reporting back OP.

Since this thread is riddled with misleading and/or confusing information, I’ll go ahead and close.
