DH has killed my slow cooker! he accidentally turned on the hot plate on the stove and the SC was standign patiently waiting to be put away. There was a horrible smell, and he's burnt the wire right through and burnt off one of the feet:headache::mad:

so I've got to get a new one. Which of the new cookers cooks least fast? I've heard there's problems with over-heating and I'm looking between Breville VTP 043 or 036, Morphy Richards 48732 (my old brand) and Crockpot(SCV655). Any suggestions?

TIA

I could'nt live without my slow cooker.The brands you mention I'm not familare with.I bought another one,it's A Rival 6quart and love it.Cost me $40+tax at Wal-Mart.

I think the crockpot is a Rival brand.

ETA I got the Rival 3.5l crockpot as it was only £19.99 (about $30-35) in John Lewis:thumbsup2 If it turns out not big enough (I was hoping for a 5l but they only had 6l ones DH saidf were too big) I can give it to DMIL and get a bigger one - but at least I don't have to stand over the oven tomorrow;)
