I heard that was done because they couldn’t decide on a Graceland burial or California. Sounds like he had special embalming, supported my a mortuary, and the body within the casket was kept in a very environmentally controlled room much like is done at a funeral home. The way it was relayed it actually didn’t sound too crazy.did not watch but after reading a news piece earlier today about how lisa marie kept her late son's body at her private home for 2 MONTHS FOLLOWING HIS DEATH (with riley's assistance) i don't think i'm up to that read![]()
I respect your view.I heard that was done because they couldn’t decide on a Graceland burial or California. A little more to it than just that.I heard that was done because they couldn’t decide on a Graceland burial or California. Riley Keough, 35, said in the book that her mother wanted to “have ample time to say goodbye to him, the same way she’d done with her dad.”
Presley was 9 years old when her father Elvis Presley died in 1977, at 42.
“Having my dad in the house after he died was incredibly helpful because I could go and spend time with him and talk to him,” Lisa Marie wrote.
She had been mulling where to bury Benjamin — either at Graceland, the home of Elvis, or in Hawaii.
“That was part of why it took so long,” she said in the book. “I got so used to him, caring for him and keeping him there. I think it would scare the living f---ing piss out of anybody else to have their son there like that. But not me.
Later, both mother and daughter got the “vibe” from Benjamin that he didn’t want to be there anymore.
He was buried at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee.
“I felt so fortunate that there was a way that I could still parent him, delay it a bit longer so that I could become okay with laying him to rest,” Presley wrote
Same.No and no. I was never into Elvis, so I really have zero interest in it. Even with the "Oprah Seal Of Approval".
I’ve had quite a bit of education on grief-work and a lot of experience coming along side those who grieve, particularly bereaved parents. It’s a crushing experience to lose a child and very personal; there’s not much that I would ever judge. But that there is not normal or healthy.A little more to it than just that.

I think there wasn't much normal or healthy in either Priscilla or Lisa Marie's youth leading them to unstable adulthood.I’ve had quite a bit of education on grief-work and a lot of experience coming along side those who grieve, particularly bereaved parents. I don't know their biographies but was Priscilla's young family life horrible. I know she was a military brat and that her parents were pretty much letting her marry Elvis at a very young age, but was there more to her story?I think there wasn't much normal or healthy in either Priscilla or Lisa Marie's youth leading them to unstable adulthood.
Hopefully Riley is more stable.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I often try to put myself in that situation as a parent. Priscilla was probably going to "flee" if her parents didn't permit it. Imagine your daughter dating the most popular pop star of the time period. They certainly didn't put her first but if they told her no and locked her in her room, I think I know what many teenage girls might do. I think that whole situation came up with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith way back in the day. Different times back then where no one looked askance at very young girls being with younger (but still adult) rock stars. The young marriage was one thing. But I think the letting her date & stay at his home when she was 14 & he was 24 is what gets me.

Basically this. She finished high school while living with Elvis and her family was in Europe. It was far from the normal teenage experience. The young marriage was one thing. But I think the letting her date & stay at his home when she was 14 & he was 24 is what gets me.
