This is the first time I've done a trip report, so have patience A little background information first:
Trip Members:
Nicole (me) 28, 3rd time to Disney World. The ONLY Disney Lover in the family (but I think I have my 2 year old hooked )
James (DH) 33: 3rd time to Disney World. He does whatever makes me happy, therefore, he willingly joins me on all of our trips. He was spoiled with our first trip of having no children along, though.
Madison (DD) 6: 2nd trip to WDW. She has fun, but says she's been there, done that, and doesn't need to go again
Emilie (DD)2: First trip to WDW. She loves Mickey the best. It might just be her and me on future trips!
Ruth (Mom) 53: First trip to WDW. We brought her along with he and paid her way in return for some free time for DH and myself.
Denny (Step-Dad) 52: 1st time to WDW. Very frugal. Came along with my mom after offered a free hotel room.
We opted for Epcot on Monday. We arrived early enough, not sure what time. We rode on Spaceship Earth first thing. That is one of my DH's favorite rides. This was where the trouble started. My husband has a disability. He has an inability to communicate. Or maybe I'm the one with the disability because I can't read his mind. I'm not sure, but either way we had problems. We are not big on doing the hands on stuff at the end of Spaceship Earth. So, when the ride was over, DH made a beeline for the exit taking the kids with. My step dad is anal about doing every little detail. He wanted to see it all. Hmm. So, I waited a minute for my SD and then told him I'd wait outside. It ended up being a thirty minute break. This did not make for a happy hubby. We finally all got together and headed over to Honey I Shrunk The Audience. Again, my mother screamed, and I enjoyed watching her
Emilie didn't like this show either, but liked it more than the Bug show. We remembered the scray parts and covered her eyes. We also rode Journey Into Your Imagination. We've never done this ride before, and we really enjoyed it. Quite cute.
We then headed over to the World Showcase. We got through Mexico, and just into Norway when we decided we were hungry. So, someone suggested Germany. I wasn't thrilled, but didn't really care. So we order $20 worth of food which consisted of a brat. and two hotdogs. After I ordered, DH tells me he's not eating there and he will find something and be back. Again the issue with communicating. I would not have eaten in Germany had I known he wasn't going to. So, frustration sets in. I try to get my two kids to eat. Then we went inside the shop to do the Kidcot stuff. There was a small group of children huddled around one end of a table. There were two open chairs, so my girls sat down. The woman next to me started making comments, and I finally realized that she was commenting to me about the fact that we butted in line. I felt horrible, and I told her we'd get up. The guy with the kids replied "If that is the worst thing that happens to us today, we'll have a great day". Nice comment, but the whole thing added to my frustration, I felt worse. After that, DH joined up with us and we backtracked to Norway. Did I mention at this point it started to rain? We rode the ride and then headed to China. My mom wanted to buy something in each country so she looked for awhile in the shops. At this point it started POURING outside. We decided to leave, and the more we walked, the harder it rained. We stepped under the Mexican stand and purchased ponchos and an umbrella. We made it to Mousegears and looked around for awhile. Of course, my mom made some purchases (did I tell you that she became a Disney Freak while we were there?). Then the sun came out, and it was gorgeous the rest of the day. We headed back to our resort to change clothes. Then it was time to use that babysitter again
DH and I went to MGM and rode on Tower of Terror. Loved it. We visited with a couple young children from England. Love the accent! We were then going to go to Fantasmic, but by the time we got done with that and all else, we decided it was too late. Should have gone anyway because we didn't get to see it again. We enjoyed a nice quick supper and just some adult time browsing.
My parents and girls ate at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Have I mentioned that Emilie is 2 and that she has red hair and that she has earned every single strand of it? Did I mention that my mother always wanted me to have a child just like me so that I would know what it was like to raise me? (so maybe I was a little mouthy and adventurous.) When my first daugther turned four, she got mouthy. My mom was happy. When Emilie turned about one, she showed her wonderful personality. She has one speed - fast. She is very independant. She is very adventurous. There is nothing she can't do. My mother laughs at me
Emilie is a sweetheart and always happy, but a definite handful. So, more information than you needed, but I shared anyway. My parents were really looking forward to the 50's Prime Time Cafe. That was their only request. I suppose as their daughter I shouldn't have sent my children with them on their only "desired meal", but that is how it worked out. They both told me how Emilie would not sit still and was climbing all over the place. UNTIL, one man put his elbows on the table and did one other "naughty" thing. The waiter made his get up, stand in the corner, and had everyone yell at him "Would You Behave". My mom looked at Emilie and told her they would make her do that too if she didn't behave. Emilie didn't move for the rest of the meal and was a perfect angel
I wonder if I can borrow that waiter??? I was glad to hear they had a good time. The waiter also held up my mom's plate and pointed out the tongue marks to everyone where she had licked it clean
This was definitely a high light in their evening.
We ended up meeting my parents after their meal and we all went to Downtown Disney together. They wanted to go, and I wasn't sure they could get there without us. We walked around for awhile, and then the hubby took the girls to Legoland. Would have been a joyful time, but Emilie decided to poop her pants
She hasn't done that FOREVER. Too much excitement I guess. James was not a happy guy. He doesn't deal well with poop, and I wasn't there to clean it up. We all met up and headed to get some ice-cream. YUMMY! It was great.
At this point, I know that James and I did something on our own. I just can't remember what. It must not have been too eventful. Oh well.
