This is the first time I've done a trip report, so have patience
A little background information first:
Trip Members:
Nicole (me) 28, 3rd time to Disney World. The ONLY Disney Lover in the family (but I think I have my 2 year old hooked
)
James (DH) 33: 3rd time to Disney World. He does whatever makes me happy, therefore, he willingly joins me on all of our trips. He was spoiled with our first trip of having no children along, though.
Madison (DD) 6: 2nd trip to WDW. She has fun, but says she's been there, done that, and doesn't need to go again
Emilie (DD)2: First trip to WDW. She loves Mickey the best. It might just be her and me on future trips!
Ruth (Mom) 53: First trip to WDW. We brought her along with he and paid her way in return for some free time for DH and myself.
Denny (Step-Dad) 52: 1st time to WDW. Very frugal. Came along with my mom after offered a free hotel room.
Day One:
We flew out of Kansas City. We spent the night at a hotel and had them take us to the airport. This was great. They picked us up right at the door and dropped us off right at our airline area. Plus, we parked our car for $10 for 7 days. Our flight left at 7 a.m., and we arrived plenty early. The flight went great, and the girls and Grandpa slept.
We arrived at the airport and someone from Floirda Tours was waiting for us. She helped us with our luggage and then called our driver to pick us up. He was waiting with the van somewhere in the airport. This was nice because we didn't have to wait for the driver to go and get the van. The driver was very quiet and didn't offer up any conversation. We stopped at Publix grocery store.
We arrived at Pop Century. We let Luggage Assistance take our luggage, and we went to check-in. We had two rooms that we were paying for, and my parents wanted to be able to charge to their room, so we asked to be able for each of us to charge to our own credit card. HUGE mistake. We arrived at our resort between 2-2:30. We got to our room at 4:30. The CM had no idea what she was doing. She cancelled our reservation and made two separate ones so we could each use our CC's. I was trying my hardest not to be mad. It was hard, but I was trying. Then when I found out what area we were staying in, I about cried. We were assigned to the 80/90's area. That is the only area I didn't want to stay in. When I asked for any other options, she said the resort was completely booked. So, we started out for our room. Not only were we in the 90's, but we were in the far building with the cell phone. And, we were on the side facing away from the resort. It was horrible. We got to change rooms on Day 2, but I would not suggest requesting this area
After we arrived in our room, and freshened up a bit, we headed to MK. It's a tradition to ride the monorail the first day. My mom, the girls, and I got to ride up front. That was neat. We then headed to the Boardwalk to meet my cousin who lives in Florida. We struggled to find a place to eat that was quick. We ended up having pizza. My daughter pulled her tooth while we were sitting around. She thought it was cool to lose a tooth in Disney World. It was neat to see some of the entertainment. The weather was perfect. I went and checked in for our Illuminations Cruise. The person I spoke with confirmed children and adults and told us we'd have Captain Ron. I was thrilled as I had heard he was one of the best to have. Captain Ron arrived right befor 8:15, and we got right on and left. So, we got an extra 15 minutes of a ride. He drove us around and my cousin's son got to drive the boat for awhile. That was so neat. He was thrilled.
We lined up for the Illuminations show and it was neat how the three captain entertained us. Captain Ron sang a little for us, and to my embarrassment, the person that I told that Captain Ron was the best was one of the other captains
I felt a little bad about that. The show was awesome. It was so peaceful. No pushing. No other people to fight with for space. We will definitely do this again. It was worth every single cent. Definitely a magical way to end the night. After checking in, I needed a boost, and this was it. My parents loved it, and my husband was impressed to
