Cleaning off my desk and found a notation on a scrap of paper about Joe's West Warwick Fleamarket that I made...when? :confused3:laughing: I don't know...I never went. :confused3 But I looked it up online and found this announcement:

Coming Soon - The Big Flea!
Rhode Island's Largest Indoor and Outdoor Year Round Flea Market Superstore
Grand Opening Saturday November 6 and Sunday November 7 at the Historic Ann & Hope Complex in Cumberland RI.

Haven't been to a fleamarket in YEARS. Like 30! Used to love the Norton MA fleamarket, if there's anyone here old enough to remember that! I guess this will be in the downstairs of Ann & Hope, where Building 19 used to be.

I saw that A&H and knew exactly where you were talking about.

Sorry, haven't lived there since 86. But there are some things you just cannot forget.:goodvibes

Carry on........:)

PS Think they will still have that crazy thing that moved the carts from one floor to the other???:scared1:

Thanks. I haven't heard a thing about this. I just assumed (maybe heard a rumor) that they were converting the Ann * Hope into condos.

I haven't been to a flea market since way back when, at least before kids. I'm excited!

I miss Ann and Hope... it used to be such a treat to get a slice of pizza after shopping with my mom if I was a good girl (way back when I was like 5!).

Thanks for the post... my kids are always asking to go to the one in Olneyville.

They have a shrine to it! I go there every so often but haven't looked at it in a while, but I think you can look through the window at it and it has a little tribute to it. That was a pretty interesting thing...every so often one wouldn't catch and they'd come crashing down. Good times! LOL

Condos? :scared1: Blasphemy! ;)

Did anyone go this weekend? Wondering how it was.

I didn't go but my dd13 and aunt did. They said it was PACKED with people, but mostly had JUNK. Hey, she's 13, that's all i get out of her.

Well, I went today, I'm 52 and I think your 13 year described it to a T! LOL It was a mob scene, and yeah, lots of junk. I ended up going upstairs to Ann & Hope and buying one of those $5 Christmas flower kits. So it wasn't a total loss.

I like the type of flea market they have at the Scituate Art Festival (old furniture and antiques and charming old "things") although I didn't get there this year, and in previous years, it's gotten smaller.
