We have been to WDW 4 times and we have never taken the time to ride in the front of the monorail. I was thinking it might be fun to do with DS on our next trip after our arrival night dinner at Chef Mickey's.

I know there is a space issue so I was wondering if you could fit 2 adults, a toddler and a folded up stroller up front or will one of us have to wait behind with the stroller?

I think there is plenty of room for your group. All you need do is ask the CM attendant at the monorail station if your party could right up front. If you're the first to ask, you'll get on. You can't count on it, but if you ask everytime, you'll get to ride in the bubble at least some of the time.

It would probably be fine but when we did it they strictly said 4 people no more even though 2 were kids and we really would have fit all 5 of us - no way they would do it. My DH rode in back but the view was GREAT!!

my husband and 2 kids rode up front but they wouldn't let us take the umbrella strollers, even folded up. so we just stuck them in the car behind us.

ate at chef mickeys on Tues.(excellant) told them we were celebrating my son's birthday i knew it was a month ago but we were still celebrating it at dinner, they said no problem gave him a special day pin. placemat signed and a cupcake, and all the guys sang a song to him, very nice, after we walked up to the monorail and asked the guy if we could sit up front it was great, tell him you are going to mk and you get to stay up front all the way. after he gives you a little co-pilot license, great pictures,

By all means try, but don't get your heart set on a particular time or place, and don't tell your DS in advance! Different coloured monorails are assigned to different resorts, as far as up front seating is concerned. It's possible that the front car may already be full when the monorail arrives. Having said that, if you try on a few different occasions I'm sure you'll be successful on one of them. The view is spectacular!

Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! I really wanted us to be able to do this as a family. :)

Time is not really a factor that evening since all we are planning on is dinner and then heading back to the hotel to relax in preparation for our big first day at MK the next day. I thought we might just ask after dinner and then we have time to wait until we can get up front.

If you really want to make your monorail ride extra special, take the monorail to the T&TC, and then try to get up front for the ride to Epcot. It's a lot longer ride than the Magic Kingdom loop, and there are some amazing photo ops as you are approaching Spaceship Earth. I got some great pictures of my niece, nephew, and brother in law when we rode up front. Just a tip, if you do this, make sure that the people you want in the picture are in the front, and/or the right hand side of the forward motion of the monorail. I sat on the left hand side right next to the door to get the great pictures I got.

Disnee Dad Says............................You should be fine.

They do enforce the four person rule. On our last trip we got the front, the three of us, and a mom and son wanted to do the same thing, usher said sorry, only four can ride.

So I did what every disnee dad would do. I lied through my teeth!
I said riding in front would make me dizzy and gave up my spot to mom and son.

They may call it magic, I say we need to spread the magic to as many people as we can.

Watch out, you could be next.....................to help!

During our 9 day stay at the Polynesian we were able to snag the front car just once.We asked every time but someone else beat us to it. On our last day, we had ps's at Chef Mickey's at 7:45. We got to the monorail platform at about 7:05 and were able to sit up front!! First run of the day. And a nice long ride to Contemporary too. Of course we were about 1/2 hr. early for breakfast....but we were seated early to boot. A magical ending to a terrific trip!! Keep trying.

We actualy got to ride up front twice on our last trip. The first time we happen to be the first people to the monorail stop and we asked if we could ride up front. The second time we were coming back from Epcot to MK at night and the CM asked if we wanted to ride up front and how could we turn it down.

They do enforce the 4 person max but I'm not sure about 3 and a stroller.

Have fun.

My wife and I got up front last trip in mid September. We have been going since openening and never rode up front (never asked). We both got "honarary monorail pilot" cards. Nice touch!

We just got back from an 11 day stay. We rode up front on the monorail 3 times. We could have gotten on two others but there were some families that we started talking to in line and let them ride instead. You can fit 4 people up front. Oh by the way, a bit of trivia --- there are 12 colored monorails (Green, lime green, purple, gold, silver, red, black, blue, coral, pink, yellow and orange). We got to ride all but orange. We saw it lots of times but could not catch it. BUMMER!!!!

I hope that your family gets to experience it............

Have fun....

We rode up front last week with four people plus a stroller. The stroller must be folded, but you can bring it in addition to four people.
