My DH and I decided to take our honeymoon 3 months after the wedding... and what should happen, A HONEYMOON BABY!

So, now, I will be 15 weeks pregnant on our trip. I was wondering... haven't talked to the Dr. yet.... will I not be able to ride the rides like:

Rock'n'Roller Coaster
Test Track
Mission Space
etc...

Or, am I early enough in the pregnancy to still enjoy theses?

** of course I will check will my Dr. but I am curious of your general opinion **

THANKS!!

congratulations!...my daughter is due with my first grandbaby any day...even more exciting than a trip to wdw:)!

not sure about test track but from what I recall, most of those rides have a warning against pregnant women riding them... rnr especially is kind of intense( may not seem like it if you do not have a problem but I have back problems, ignored the warnings and really could barely walk for the next few days and had to go back to my room one day due to the pain due to my own stupidity) not worth taking a chance with your little one imo, the rides will be there next time!

Congrats! I don't think you'll be able to go on those rides--they do have warnings for pregnant woman not to ride them.

Your doctor will say...... NO WAY.

With that said I went when I was 9 weeks preggo and rode everything.............. but I felt quesy and yuicky for an hour or so after each intense ride. I didnt enjoy them.... I was too worried....

If I was ever in that position again, I would not ride..... WHy.... My son is the best thing that ever happened to me, and If I had had a miscarraige.... I would never have forgiven myself.

That is parent hood.... giving up some of who you are for the greater good of your children.

As another posted said.... the rides will be there next time....

You definitely cannot ride any of those rides. The jerky motions could cause serious complications even early on. It's definitely not worth it. I'm sure any rides that could cause you problems will have warning signs for pregnant women. I would just heed those. Congratulations!!

I went to WDW when I was 20 weeks with #1, I rode Killimanjaro Safaris and that was as "extreme" as I got. Actually I think that I rode Splash Mountain, and regretted it. Not because I felt bad...but I was worried that that was too much. My daughter turned out perfectly fine. It really is pretty tame (IMO) except for that last drop, but the ride itself is quite smooth.

I was pregnant with #2 on our next trip (but didn't know it), but I didn't ride the thrill rides because I was so busy chasing or 12 month old!

I will be 20 weeks again when I go in Sept and I will avoid the thrill rides once again...but this is the LAST baby so this should be the last trip while pregnant.

So long story short, I would avoid rides. When I go, I will do the Killimanjaro again, but that will be it.

Good luck & congratulations!
Karen

My wife was a couple months pregnant when we went to MK and Epcot in January. We skipped the mountains at MK and Test Track and Mission:Space at Epcot. There were plenty of other things to do and we still had a lot of fun.

You don't want to ruin your trip by being worried about a ride harming your baby.

You'll have a blast! Remember to plan for plenty of breaks because you will get tired a lot easier when pregnant.

And I asked my Dr., just out of curiosity, why they post those warnings. She said the centripetal (sp?) forces and spinning, etc. aren't good for the baby, and also "If the ride breaks down, they don't want you to be the one stuck upside down for 2 hours" (not that that would happen at Disney!). So I'll listen to the warnings that are posted...BUT, I would go on Kilamanjaro Safaris cuz I think that's pretty tame.

If your husband really wants to do the rides by himself, you can wait in line with him and take the exit right before you get on, just so you can see the themes, or rest and people watch while he rides. You'll still have a great time, and now you'll be more aware of the kiddy sections, keeping an eye out for when you return with your little one.

Have a great time!

Yup, you'll need to skip most of those. I was pregnant on our last two Disney trips. My doctor said to definitely avoid anything with a posted warning, including things that seem tame but could involve any sudden stops or bumping into things. (She said such things can cause the placenta to separate from the uterine wall.)

I also did the safari because I had been on it before and knew that I could handle it. Other than that, I did all of the non-thrill rides. Just have a good time enjoying what you can!

I went at 32 weeks last September and had a great time! There is still so much you can do. But you should avoid the rides with a warning. I did do Kilamanjaro like many others...I just requested the front seat where it wasn't as bumpy. My doctor told me that most of the rides warnings were CYA on Disney's part. BUT - I could not have lived with myself if something had happened to my darling Sammi - even if it wasn't a result of anything I did I still would have blamed myself if I had done something with a warning. Have a wonderful time. And CONGRATULATIONS!! I was married 8 years before I had my first little one - and only one right now - and the one thing I would change is having her earlier. Of course I told DH that God knew exactly what he was doing me having my first baby at 29. If I had started earlier I would have had a dozen. There is nothing in this world more amazing than having a child. I will have at least one more and I really want 3....but I have to do some talking to DH to pull that off :D

Congratulations on the marriage, and the baby! both such wonderful blessings!

Take the advice of the wise women here (and I'm sure your doctor would say so too) and just skip the thrill rides this trip. you'll have other WDW trips but only have one chance to finish growing that little one...taking any risk just for rides isn't worth it.

And there ARE so many fun things to do while your DH rides them if he wants! Chances are by then that you'll be a)tired b)hungry all the time C) needing to go potty a lot LOL and D) all of the above LOL so you can do any of those, rest, eat, or take a bathroom break while he rides.

do'nt forget the shows, too. They really are great and you can rest and have a great fun while being safe for all.

Have a wonderful time!

(man, it's been ages since I posted here! LOL)

Here is some good news for you! I went this past May when I was 15 weeks pregnant, and it was the first week I felt really well after being sluggish the first trimester. Have a great time! I, too, rode safari but skipped any other warning ride. I have heard of people riding the Barnstormer, but I did not. Of course, this might be your last time without kids so I would enjoy MK withour Toontown!!

Any ride that state you should not ride during pregnancy you should not ride. That is all the ones you listed. Why take a chance, there will be other Disney trips.

Just talk to your doctor and then use your own judgement. I went on lots of rides when I was pregnant with both of my children because my doctor said it was fine. BTW they're both healthy happy, thrill ride seekers like their mom. ;)
