I have twice, for work, but would never do it for any other reason....

poll coming.

I have and I'd do it again. I wish I could use one to commute.

I did once at a local seafood festival. It was a blast and I would love to do it again!

I would love to go up in a helicopter. Let my son and his friend have a ride when they were 12 and they said it was awesome.

Haven't had the opportunity, but they transport sick people, so I'm not too worried about safety.

So long as isn't a war-situation, heck yeah!

The vets told me that helicopters are very easy to "shoot down," so I wouldn't want to be in one that people were shooting at. :)

I finally got to ride in a helicopter in Alaska. We had a half hour ride that flew over the glaciers and then landed on one. It was a blast and an awesome view. It ended to quickly. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

I did once at Mt. Rushmore. It was a quick swoop up, a couple of minutes hover and a quick swoop down. I thought I was going to lose my lunch. Plus, it was one of those door open little whirlybirds. The only thing holding me in was my seat harness.

I might do it again in a bigger copter that goes slower and has the cabin closed. Especially if it is in Hawaii!

We flew via helicopter over the Texas Worlds Fair in our younger yrs. I enjoy flying, but this was about the roughest ride I'd ever had and can't say it was particularly enjoyable. Also did some site seeing in Alaksa in a very small plane that only held the pilot, DH & myself. Little too adventurous for me, I kissed the ground when we finally landed safely. :rotfl2:.

Both Dh adn I have flown in helicopters on a regular basis. We were both professional helicopter photogs for one of the NY news stations. It was REALLY neat, but you do have to have a lot of trust in the pilot. People prone to motion sickness often have a hard time becaus eyou feel EVERYTHING and turbulence can be pretty wicked. DH had to actually lean out of the chopper with a camera strapped to his body once when the gyro-cam mounted on the front was on the fritz. We had one pilot who was a former vet and delighted in doing crazy aerial stuff to freak out his passengers (like landing in a skid like an airplane, doing wicked banked turns and such...we called him AIRWOLF). Other times he would hit a switch that caused the emergency alarm to go off, and it would scare the heck out of the poor reporter stuck inside! One night I went up in the chopper with DH (the night we started dating...so romantic!) and a bird flew into the windshield and splattered across it...so nasty!

I spent new year's eve on the millenium in our news chopper over Times Square. I could see fireworks for MILES all around us and even under us (I though someone was shooting at the helicopter!). It wa amazing. Such a sight!

Oh yeah...and every flight I would get air-sick and wind up barfing in the little bagiie. EVERY FLIGHT! And I flew several timesd a week.

I did two helicopter flights -- one over Hawaii when I was 13, and the other over St. Thomas in '05.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I rode helo's a few times in the Navy. Being a "fixed-wing" (ok, actually folding wing) guy, I think it is totally unnnatural for an aircraft to be in the air and not moving!!!

Helicopters don't FLY, they just beat the laws of aerodynamics into submission.

In a word, no.

I have when in Hawaii and would do it again!

I took my godson on a helicopter tour over WDW, they took us over our hotel and the surrounding area too...it was really fun!

Yes...by all accounts helicopter should'nt work but yet they do. Freaky!

I've done it 3 times, all on vacation. The first time was in New Zealand and was just a quick hop to get to the entry point for a rafting trip. I was nervous but excited, then sad that the flight ended so quickly. The next two times were in Hawaii. I really enjoyed it on Kauai, but got pretty nervous again on the big island, hovering over a bubbling pit of molten lava. :scared1:

I never got motion sickness, but each ride was back in my younger days when I had a stomach made of steel. The past few years, I get dizzy and motion sick much more easily, and may very well lose my lunch if I try it again. :worried:

My college sweetheart was killed in a helicopter crash. I will never in my life get on a helicopter (at least not willingly).

My nephew has flown helicopters for the military for a dozen years and keeps telling me how safe they are but that still wouldn't be enough reassurance to get me on one.

I have flown in a few types of helicopters, courtesy of the military. I'd go again in a heartbeat!!
