Riding at Park Close

We have often times jumped on rides right at park close, but all in our party have been tall enough to ride. This time we will have an infant along. Will they give out a rider switch at park close? Obviously, you wouldn’t have time to go back on then, but we would be able to the next day. How does this work now that many rider swaps are ending same day? Any recent experience with this?

With the new "Rider Switch pass only good on the same day as issued," situation, I have no idea.
It was one of the first things I thought would be problematic when they started "same-day only" policy.

Any pass issued within the last 60-90 min. of a given (busy) day might be a problem.
I've not seen anyone describe what has happened in these cases.

I’m wondering if you went to guest services either that night or the next morning, if they might exchange them for you? Just a thought I had. I’m curious to see what happens a between now and our July trip!

I would think you could enter the queue with a rider switch, but not request one after the line officially closes.

We rode ToT right at close while my parents watched my DS2 in the gift shop (which is where they were told to wait by the line greeter guy) They were then escorted up the chicken exit for a private ride on ToT... kinda wish I’d done the waiting instead of taken the first ride ;)

It’s been a few years, but we once rode Dinosaur right at closing time with a rider swap pass. A ride attendant waited with us in the gift shop area until the first group finished. Then he took the rest of us through a back entrance and we got a private ride, the last one for the day.

Another time, we were at RnR with a late rider swap and the first group took a lot longer than expected. They didn’t get off until past closing time and the gate attendant didn’t want to let us back in. Fortunately, another worker came by and agreed to let us ride. We filled the last 3 seats on the last train of the evening.

I'm not sure if a cast member screwed up at the entrance but earlier this month we went to space mountain 10 minutes before closing. In front of us in line were two adults with a child who looked about 3 and clearly too short. It looks like they did some sort of swap at the front of the line - we rode right after so all I know is that one adult boarded with the other two not riding but weren't there to see what happened after. I've never seen a too short child in a queue and as far as I know - it's not allowed. Have no idea if they make some exceptions at closing to get everyone into the queue for this reason. (But as I noted - someone may have just screwed up letting the child in line).

But otherwise - I would think you'd be out of luck at closing - you may get the pass but if it expires it expires.
