Ridiculousness of Reporting System

Am I the only one ticked off by this?! They have word censors for when you report people!! This is getting out of hand, extremely. I went to report one guy, who was saying "I need a girl" and was getting really annoying. I typed that he said "I need a girl" in the box and it claims that they didn't recognize the words so I couldn't send the help message!

If you ask me, this is defeating the purpose of it, its truly ridiculous.
 
Yes, you do have to follow the VMK Dictionary even when reporting players because some still abuse the dictionary as it is. Although the reason for you reporting is not against the VMK Values at this time. Guest Rooms associated with taken, finding, meeting, etc. are in fact against the VMK Values now.

I spoke with staff about this and they told me that people in VMK can have a ' special ' friend to be with on VMK. If it is taken too far then it can be reported and staff will take care of it.

Well anyways I do think that you should be able to explain yourself without being stopped by a limited dictionary when it comes to reporting a player though.
 
But the point is, that has an even more limited dictionary! I couldn't say things that the player said in the actual game!

And I think that is purely disgusting morals on the part of Disney and they should all be ashamed of themselves. It is NOT a dating site and there are young kids going on there, I find it appalling that they will let it go to "Special friend"
 
Well I found the response that they sent me when I asked them how far the new rule added to the VMK Values will be enforced. This was this response and it actually got me laughing at first when I read it:

But back to the main point. That is odd that you had an even more limited dictionary, but that has not happened to me before, and I just reported a room and could say everything and explain myself just fine. Maybe it was a little flaw or something when you tried reporting :confused3
 

Wow, that is so pathetic. They are shirking responsibility, and I find it ironic that they won't allow "date rooms" but they'll allow "special friends"
 
i find the reporting system to be a big joke any way I was doing dailys one day and came into a room where someone was being extremely rude and dancing around doing the cussing thing at all in the room. I reported them and the response I got was "if someone is annoying you go to another room"

well no duh, but how does that stop the person being rude and not following vmk values??

so i don't bother reporting anymore, what is the point.

to add an extra gripe, i don't bother with contact us anymore either, I have yet to get an answer that makes any sense. example I asked a direct question that required a yes or no answer nothing more. and i got two email answers, on that said they could not find my childs name and I needed to send info. (my response - I am not a child as you can see if you look at my birthdate and this has nothing to do with the yes or no answer i required) and the other was even more crazy and neither of them answered my direct question. I also wrote in about one of my pirate pin codes. I got a set from my friend when she went to disney - all worked fine except the pirate prison room which gave me a message that the code did not match their codes. I have written five times and gave all the info required where and how obtained, what the code was and what it was for, what the message was when i typed in code. and each time i get the same generic email. "We need the following infor to follow up on your request where and how obtained, what the code was and what it was for, what the message was when i typed in code" when i replyed to the email as stated i got an email telling me the case is closed because it was answered in first email. (so you can not reply to email even when it says to reply) So the next time I copied the email that had my original and their reply and did a new contact us and sent the whole thing. this was weeks ago and still no answer and no room either.

To sum it up I think the report and the contact us is a big waste of time and Disney should be ashamed that they can not do a simple task, so why bother having report or contact us. Big waste!!!!!

Yes, quite true. My ten year old brother goes there. I can just look at him look at people do the taken and other stuff. I can't do anything else :confused3 :(
 
All that reporting people does is makes the staff send the person who reported them something, the person who was being reported doesn't even get warned! I don't even bother using reportings anymore because they are ridiculous.
 
Actually, you are allowed to use the same words the players used when in
the Report button system.

Did you accidentally use quotes or two spaces in a row? There are limits
in VMK using those. Was it during the time when the period was no longer
allowed as punctuation? It's since been restored, but it wouldn't allow you
to send your report if you used the "." in your report during that time.

That's why if you REALLY want to report someone, and you feel it was
serious enough to warrant investigation, use the Contact Us link at the
bottom of the VMK home page. There is a drop-down menu option for
"A player is making me uncomfortable". You can report the player there.

As far as I could tell by the reason you were reporting, someone repeating
"I need a girl" over and over again is not a reason to report. It's just really
annoying. Clicking the Ignore button rather than report sounded like the
better option.

I've reported players who were doing more serious things, like dictionary
dancing cursing, inappropriate room titles (places that are illegal in the US
but ok in Amsterdam if you catch my drift), and the worst thing I've seen,
players who have impersonated staff.
 
There are worse things to about the report system. For example, the inexplainable warn en masse system, the fact that serious cases are often times ignored, and the fact that just about anyone can report you and chances are you will be banned. People make up serious offenses and you get banned for god-knows-how-long.

Go to the VMK home page and click "Contact Us." There are no dictionary limits there :banana:





...Of course, you will need to wait about 2 months for a response.

For well over a year and half I never got any answers to my email questions, and when I finally did get an answer it had nothing to do with the quesiton at all. Frankly it makes VMK looks uncaring and very stupid. And it is all by their own actions. Obviously I'm the not the only one to notice, so it's not just me as some people have said.
 
You are absolutely right cat_herder, they do look very uncaring and stupid. If Disney is going to take on a massive project like VMK, they should be prepared to accept responsibility with it and to enforce their own rules.
 
Similar situation with me, I reported a girl in the Pirates' Treasure Room that was standing right in front of the Silver Treasure Chest in such a way that she blocked two of the three places you can stand to open the Chest. I said in my report that I was unable to go to other instances of the room because it's not clickable from the VMK map. (I kept trying to re-enter the room but kept getting put back in the same instance.)

The response I got back was to use the globe button to go to another instance of the room from the VMK map. Honestly, I don't think that the staff member even read my report all the way through... unless there's some way now to get to the Treasure Room without going through the Pirates game!!? :scared: ;)
