rides too babyish for teen?

Planning my step-dd15 first trip to a disney park in March. She is not a real rides type of girl (must get it from dad!!! ). I know she won't do SM or TOT, but may do some of the others. Anyway, I've been reading about the rides and wondering if there are any that are just for little kids? Or that maybe she might feel awkward on? Like Casey Jr, canal boats, or even Autopia. Anything else? TIA!!

I don't think there is anything specifically for little kids, but there are a lot geared toward little kids. I'm not much of a rider either, but I can do most disneyland rides! Pooh's honeypots, Haunted Mansion, the canoes, the riverboats, POTC, jungle cruise, and the others you mentioned, plus pinnochio, tea cups. I haven't been on much else. I have motion issues and didn't have problems on any of those. My dd (8) also enjoys dumbo, Roger Rabbit, Gadget's Coaster, Splash Mountain, Grizzly River, Star Tours, and Mr. Toad.

I don't think she would feel awkward on anything, especially if someone is with her. But then again, I'm probably out of touch with teens since I'm not one and haven't had one yet.

Everyone is a kid at Disneyland!! I see people of all ages on all the "kiddie rides". Hopefully she has a good attitude and just wants to have fun. My DD 16 rides everything and her favorites are the kiddie rides in Fantasyland. My fav is the Story book canals. Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear, Small World, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Casey Jr. Train, the other main train that circles Disneyland, all the rides in Fantasyland; all these are fun and not wild coasters. Pirates of the Caribean also. There's more at DCA, plus the fireworks, Fantasmic, Aladdin play, Bugs life show. There's so much!!

Exactly what I was thinking!!! I walk through the gates and feel 5 again!! Even my *too cool for anything* preteen daughters love all the "Kiddie Rides"

Whew!! Thanks!! You all made me feel better about it! I just worry about everything! She has been my step for about three years, and I just want us to go somewhere together and have a fun trip, maybe even start a tradition!! She has a great attitude, and I will ride with her! I love all the FL rides too, but wasn't sure about those exclusive to DL (my 1st DL trip ). The unofficial guide got me scared b/c they say a lot of the rides should be skipped if you don't have young kids in your party.

You will all have a blast, and I bet she will try all of the rides once she gets there.

I went this year for my (OUCH 50Th birthday) amd I went on everything, there is no such thing as kiddie rides at DL, we are all kids at heart. your daughter will have a FUNtastic time

I would skip the Bug's Land stuff at DCA and Casey Jr. might seem dull to her. If she is a little timid about roller coasters, Gadget's Go Coaster is a good bet- I have a friend who is terrified of roller coasters but will do that one.

My 15 year-old son is not as excited as he has been in the past about going. This breaks my heart. He'd rather stay home so he won't miss his best friend (girl) and he's worried about falling behind in school. I'm hoping that once he gets on the plane, the same thing will happen to him!

My 13 year old son is super excited though so at least dh & I have someone to anticipate the trip as excitedly as us!

I'm her age (15) and there aren't many rides I won't ride. I'll ride It's a Small World, Winnie-the-Pooh, all Fantasyland dark rides, even Dumbo. Definitely don't write off an attraction just because it looks "kiddie" such as Buzz or Peter Pan, both amazing attractions.

On my last trip we were standing in line for Buzz when this "too cool for Disney" kid (must have been around 10) was like "I hate Buzz Lightyear, It's a baby ride." I wanted to slap him and say "There are NO baby rides at DL!". After the ride I found him glued to the "email your on-ride-pic" screen. He didn't want to leave! Go figure.

Since this will be her 1st trip, she should definitely go on all the rides. We went this last summer and took our 2 sons, age 10 & 14, on the rides in Bug's land and they had fun. It may not have been the top rides of the trip, but we left Bug's land with smiles on our faces. Sometimes it's the small rides that make the funniest memories. Just like everyone else has said; everyone is a kid at Disneyland.

My son is 17 now. He went through a phase several years ago when he didn't have quite as much fun as the rest of us. Thankfully, he is back to his fun loving self again!

For some reason, I think it will be much harder for a girl to resist the magic of Disneyland! I also have to agree that everyone gets to be a kid at Disneyland, so when she sees you and the rest of your family having lots of fun I bet she will do the same.

hi there, i have 3 kids and on our last trip to DL in sept, my kids were dd-16, ds-14, and dd-12...they went on anything and everything...they LOVE the bigger rides but very much enjoy the little rides...my oldest keeps saying for our next trip she wants to do something different yet she does love DL...i think our next trip will be for her grad next year and we will do DL for 4 days and newport beach for 5...she will love it, the best of both worlds....have fun...i wish we were going back this year...

We went this Christmas with my kids my sister's kids. I was worried too. The age ranges were so big. So my sister did a funny thing. She made a list of Disneyland rules. They were tounge in cheek and all of the kids loved them.
A few of them were
Wear a silly hat.
Always smile for grandma's camera
Try every ride with no complaining. We will get to ride every ride so if this one is not your favorite the next one might be.

I know there were a bunch but they adressed certain things but in a funny way. My kids loved it. Her boys really liked it too, they are 13 and 14. Silly hat day was great. They even liked Turtle Talk with Crush, and the Aladdin musical. They did all of those things because we had sort of set forth the "rules" ahead of time.

I'm a 16 year old female and I assure you that I am SO excited about my trip coming up next month.

I think I am more excited to go to all of the dark rides and such because I love seeing my favorite Disney movies come to life!! California Adventure is probably geared towards her age but I think DisneyLand is perfectly fine for someone 15-16.
