Rides that are closed for refurbishment...do they ever open earlier than projected?

Splash mountain will be closed when we go in January. I knew this would most likely be the case when we made the plans, but just saw that it is projected to be open one day after we leave.

Is there a possibility that it will open before it is projected to? This happen to anyone?

Disney is pretty good at planning refurb schedules. Sometimes they get done early, sometimes they run long.
