Rides for Little Ones

I was at Bunco last night and discussing WDW with friends. One of the women has a trip planned for end of July with her family - DH, 5, 3, and almost 1 year olds. She's debating taking the 1 year old or not. She said that she called WDW and was told that anything that the 3 y/o can ride, the 1 y/o can ride also.

Now, I just got back from a week there myself - but my kids are 10 and 8 so I was out of practice of thinking about little ones.

Seems to me that a 1 year old can ride Buzz and Pooh and Peter Pan - since they're sitting in the vehicle with you. Is that right?

She knows about kid swap.

Any other advice you can offer? I just copied the "How old should kids be?" link for her.

Just wondering what directions to send her as she makes the decisions.

Thanks!

Leah

we took our 2 yr old...he is little and rode basically everything but the coasters...he had a BLAST!!! it is alittle more difficult with the older ones wanting to ride the bigger stuff...but if you do child swap or single riders it is fine and almost quicker!

We took our 3year old and 2 month old. The two month old rode Buzz Lightyear (I did cover her eyes, because of all the flashing lights), POTC, Peter Pan, IASM, Nemo, pretty much everything the 3 year old rode. I had her in a front carrier, and she did fine. You can only do child swap on the rides with height restrictions.

My boys have been to Disney World as young as 9 months and last year they were 9 mo, 21 mo and 10. We have always had a great time and we use child swap whenever appropriate. I think the boys enjoyed being able to people watch and take in all the sights and sounds. Every day when we entered the MK, our boys would smile and clap, they definately enjoyed themselves!

We have taken DS who is now almost 28 mos 5 times in his young life. We usually go for about 5 nights and we usually leave feeling like we didn't get to do all the rides we wanted to, even with him. Little ones can ride basically everything that doesn't have a height restriction, so that would rule out roller coasters (which there aren't really all that many) and other really big thrill rides. Other than that, we have had tons to see and do at each and every park, including many many things that would keep a 3 and 5 y/o occupied.
