Rides for "fluffier" people...

Thanks Amy and Cherry Tree Lane!

I am trying to lose a little more before we go, but I wear a 18/20 up top (if it doesn't cover my hips too much) and 26/28 on bottom! I had gastric bypass a while ago and unfortunately the weight on the bottom half of me has been VERY STUBBORN! :sad2: I only have 38 days to go... :yay:

Amber I think you will be fine. If you get on and a problem arises, just get off and say you are too scared and you changed your mind! Its one of those things you won't know until you try. But I still think you will be just fine! You do just sort of walk around to where they direct you and get on and strap yourself in. You would have some time before a cm came up and you could easily just "chicken" out and nobody would be the wiser or a bit surprised since people chicken out on that thing all the time. Even though its not that bad at all and I hate heights and still love it.

And btw, Congratulations on your weight loss. Your bottom half will catch up to the top of you I am very sure!

I hope it will be okay. I think I will love it... maybe not as much as WDW Tower of Terror, but I still want to ride it. :thumbsup2

Actually, it doesn't really bother me to say I don't fit. I guess because a while ago, I wouldn't have been able to fit on any ride. Now I can do most rides at the parks here, and I got on everything at WDW. :woohoo: CyberSpace Mountain at DisneyQuest was a sqeeze, but I made it and had a blast.

Thanks for the encouragement! :goodvibes I had the surgery 2 1/2 years ago, and I've hit this nasty plateau. (Just don't ask me my starting weight. I was HUGE!) I need to get back to the gym. :yay:

Amber, have you ever visited the WISH board here on the dis? Its a wonderful support and has helped me lose over 30 pounds this past year. I love it that I get my Disney fix/info and weight loss tips and support all on one board! You will get off this plateau, you can do it!!

I had a proble on the Tower of Terror at WDW. THey have a lap bar that goes accross the whole row. My 11 year old daughter was next to me and when the came around to check that the bars were down, the CM pushed it down and i could barely breath. The next time we rode i had my hand on the bar to keep it from being pushed down so tight and the CM humiliated me in front of the whole car by saying that i would not be allowed to ride unless the bar could be pushed all the way down. Needless to say, i couldnt breath that time either. :scared1:

I don't understand why they would put a bar across the whole row. That's not fair for the bigger people who can't get it down to a smaller person's level.

Do they still have the seat belts?

Yeah, actually I did the last Biggest Loser competition on the WISH board. I had lost a few pounds, but I gained back to my "pre-competition" weight.

DH and I have been talking about when we get back from our trip, we want to go to Jenny Craig. It will help with us being on the run so we don't have to eat convenience food all the time. Plus DH really needs help with portion control.

They don't have those restraints anymore thank goodness! Now each seat on TOT has its own seatbelt at DL and WDW. The Mullholland Madness ride at DCA used to also have this shared lap bar thing. That was a ride I did once see a man have to exit since he and his ds could not share the restraint. But then a lady let the little boy ride with her and the dad rode alone so it was okay. Thankfully Disney removed those on that ride too. I think they have come to the conclusion that those shared restraints don't work for a lot of people!

I won't be riding MM! I hate those crazy mouse rides. I always come off with a big headache. :headache: DH might ride it, though. We have an agreement at Animal Kingdom. He gets to ride Primeval Whirl while I get to go shopping at the store near it! That's how I started pin trading on the last trip. ;)

But thanks for the info. I am glad ToT has the seatbelts like the one in WDW. It's practically my favorite ride tied with Space Mtn. :goodvibes

I am so glad they did that. This happended a few years back. They had a regular seat belt in the last row in the center but that was it.
