My husband will be on extended business trip near Disneyland. I'm thinking of flying cross-country with my kids (5 & 6) to visit for 4 days. I'd like to take the kids to Disneyland - however, are there rides that the 3 of us could sit together on? POTC and It's a Small World, Teacups come to mind. But what else is there???

Buzz, but someone (mom) wouldn't get a blaster
BTMRR
HM
Railroad
Casey Jr. train
Peter Pan

Just a few that come to mind

There is so much for a parent and two children to do.
Tiki Room, Indiana Jones, Tom Sawyer's Island, Splash Mt., Winnie the pooh, canoes, shooting range in FrontierLand, All the vehicles that go up and down Main St. FanastyLand rides will all be fine for the three of you.

There will only be a few things that might not work for the three of you. For the most part you'll be just fine.

Enjoy

Don't forget about the shows and parade! They are great for resting tired feet. Mickey and the Magical Map is a cute show. The Frozen storytelling show at the Royal Theatre is funny and interactive. Do your kids like Star Wars? If so, check out the Jedi Academy. There's so much for the 3 of you to do!

At DCA you can ride 3 to a shell on Little Mermaid. You should also be able to ride on Monster's Inc. as one can ride in the row in front of the other 2 (I think). You could also do the swings (can't remember what they're called these days), Golden Zephyr, Jumpin Jellyfish, and I'm sure quite a few more. At DL, pretty much all of the dark rides, though Mr. Toad may be tricky, the carousel, Dumbo...Honestly there are very few that won't accommodate 1 adult and 2 kids.

I would think most of the rides can accommodate 1adult and 2kids. As pp stated, Buzz Lightyear would leave 1 without a gun, so that may be tricky. The same on Toy Story in DCA, but I wonder if they would let your 6yr old ride alone-ish or the kids together. I know policy is 7yrs, but the car has 2seats back to back with 2 others, so they would never be away from you or with strangers.
I have an under 40 incher, so I haven't paid a lot of attention to those bigger rides and who they accommodate. The rest, I'm pretty sure you'd be good.

On Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, my DH, ODS and YDS(boys are 7 and 3) fit just fine. DH even had a back pack that fit in the car with them.
