Rider switch and Pandora

Hi everyone,
I have two questions:
1. Does Na'vi River Journey allow rider swap? I saw that it does on one site but not on the official Disney site.
2. I'm going with my husband and 2.5 year old. If my husband goes alone first, determines that my daughter wouldn't be too scared by it, can all three of us go together on the next round (since I would be allowed to take up to 2 people with me)?
TIA!

I haven't seen any reports that it does...where did you see that? I've also not heard of anyone doing what you've described at rider swap. Hopefully someone can answer for sure.

Is there a certain part you think your daughter will be scared of?

I don't recall any rider swap for that one... My kids are older, but I did not find Navi to have anything particularly scary. It's a very short, smooth boat ride. It is dark with the bioluminescent foliage, etc. and some unusual creatures, but there is no story or peril.

I called and asked a CM this exact question. Got a very strange answer that I'm not sure I believe. They said that Child Swap is available to guests at NRJ, but only to those w/o a FastPass. I've seen people say they were able to use it, but until our trip in 2.5 weeks, I just won't know for sure. Sorry if that's not a huge help, but it's a good question

I would highly doubt there's a rider swap available on a no height requirement slow boat ride and definitely wouldn't count on it (and on a side note - even as a huge proponent of using rider swap liberally, it definitely not meant to get an extra ride for your party when there isn't anyone doing a swap.) As always, who knows if you'll get CM that'll let you do something but I think doing swap on this would be like asking for swap on IASW.

They probably don't want people to abuse the system of the tiered FPs. Otherwise you'd get 1 for Navi and your husband would get one for FOP and you would both get to do both. If one person actually waits in line, they will accommodate you buy doing the rider swap because if you are willing to wait in line your request is more legit.

If a ride allows rider swap (and I did not think this one did or that it would be needed as I have not heard anything about this ride being scary), then yes, you take any two people with you and they would have no idea that your husband had just ridden.

I would normally agree, but then FEA...:confused3

I think it's potentially for the drop in FEA.

I know Pirates has a drop too, but it's not aimed squarely at little kids like FEA is. The presence of rider swap may cause some parents to re-evaluate going on that ride.

Maelstrom had it too, so it can't be the kids angle. It baffles the mind honestly.

I don't think Maelstrom was marketed as a kiddie ride the way FEA is.

I'm not all that baffled, honestly. I took my then-18 month old on the ride and wished we'd used rider switch. He was terrified of the drop and cried through the rest of the ride. I felt like such an awful parent afterward.

I wouldn't consider taking him on POtC at that age due to the content - I thought it might frighten him.
