Hi all, so we are going to brave the crowds over spring break and I’m worried about the crowds without fastpass! We also have a two year old so I was wondering how rider swap is working these days if at all?!? If they are still doing rider swap could you please let me know the process and how this works, The last time we used it was years ago and I can’t remember how it worked although I think you received a paper fastpass? thanks so much in advance for any help!!!!

1. Rider swap goes on MagucBand now and can only have one at a time.
2.Find the CM at the ride who is scanning for Rider Swap and get registered for it
3.Rider one must wait through stand by entrance
4. Rider two can go back on through FP+ line with 2 additional guests (all people riding with Rider two need to get MagicBand registered)

We used rider swap for the first time last week. My 10 yo does not like roller coasters. When I asked each ride attendant about that ride specific process many times I was asked why I needed rider swap for a 10 yo.

For a child who is “tall enough but doesn’t want to ride” they won’t usually issue a digital swap on the MB but rather handle it at/near boarding. The MB method of rider swap involves a child who is too short to go through the queue.

Can you only do rider swap if you have magic bands then?
No, rider swap is open to all. The digital
Swap will be added to your hard plastic ticket if you aren’t using a MB. Actually, to be technical, the swap is added to MDE which is accessed with a MB or ticket, nothing is “on” the MB or ticket.

Great info, never used rider swap and will have a 1yo when we go in August so will likely be using it. If my wife is waiting with the baby while I go on with the three other kids, can she bring two of them back on with her or do they stay with her while I go on with one or two of them? In other words, can two of the kids get two rides, one with each parent?

Generally speaking yes - the RS is good for up to 3 riders but one child may have to sit alone depending on the ride vehicle.

How you ride will depend on the ages of your children, 7 and under need to ride with a guest 14 or over so you need to plan for that if more than one of the tall enough children is under 7.

Also - the entire party must approach the line to obtain the RS, then the first party to ride enters the lines and your wife is free to wait elsewhere with the baby and return after using the FP line.
