Ridemax reporting that Big Thunder now a disconnected Fastpass!

Interesting...I wonder why my friend said it is connected but then you were able to get FPs while you had them for Indy......I'll have her check it again. LOL I know she'd love to be able to do this!

Hmmm...not sure why she is having trouble. Was able to do again this morning. Had just obtained a ST FP and went directly to BTMRR and got a FP with no trouble.

Yes, I can also confirm that this is true, BTMRR FP's were not connected during my recent trip. I accidently stumbled upon this quirk in the system because my kids were riding it 2-3 times a day (oh boy). Our week long trip began on Aug. 22nd and one morning I went to get BTMRR fastpasses for my family first because the return time was always 30 minutes later. I really needed Indy fastpasses too but I only had one more PH to use, so I walked over to Indy to obtain one FP but for the heck of it I tried to get one more, and sure enough I was able to get Indy FP's for everyone in my group who'd be riding it. I wasn't sure what was going on: either BTMRR was disconnected or they were easing up on the 2-hour rule. So naturally I tested the system all over the park, but sure enough the only FP I could get when I wanted them were for that one ride. During the week of Aug. 22nd I can confirm that:

BTMRR did not appear to be connected, and

Indy, Splash, Space Mountain and Star Tours were definitely connected.

Crowds were reasonable last week, especially later in the week when it got really hot, and the return time for BTMRR was usually 30 minutes after I obtained the FP. I never did ask a CM what was going on, I just enjoyed the perk. I also wondered if this was in effect because we were there during the non-peak season. FP's for BTMRR seem to be effective (unlike Autopia) so it would be a real shame if they remove FP's for this ride, especially during the peak seasons. Are there any theories as to why it would be disconnected?

Well, Roger Rabbit hardly needs FP, but continues to have it. So I am hopeful that this is something else rather than a prelude to stopping all FPs for BTMRR. I would rather lose Autopia FPs too!

Roger Rabit rarely has a line less than 30 minutes, even on a good day. It is consistently one of the longest park lines, up there with the big e-tickets and Peter Pan.

The worst line I've ever been in at DL was for RR. (I had a brain cramp and forgot the FP was disconnected for RR.)

How exciting! But like other posters have said, that ride really doesnt even need a FP. I have only seen FP being distributed on 3 of my trips ever and only bothered grabbing them once. But I like the option!

I think this depends on when you go perhaps. During Thanksgiving week, Christmas time, spring break dates close to Easter, holiday weekends, and even some busy summer days, we have seen posted wait times of 40-45 minutes for Big Thunder. So much nicer to use our fastpasses and be boarding in 10 minutes or less.

I think FP for this ride are great. I've seen some really long lines, especially in the evening, especially if they take trains off. It's odd, I've seen situations where they had four trains running in the afternoon, no line, and then for whatever reason around 8 PM or so, they take a couple of trains off and only load one side of the platform. Whammo, instant mega 45+ minute lines as everyone comes to ride the coaster in the dark.

In this situation, I'll grab FP, head over to something else, like Indy, HM, POTC, even Tarzan or Pooh, and after a couple of rides there, we're ready to BMTRR. It's not uncommon for us to immediately grab another set of FP whenever we ride, as the return times are always good. If it's disconnected, that'll make this strategy a no brainer.

I do think there's some wisdom to disconnecting the FP rides that don't sell out of FP on a regular basis. If they don't sell out of FP, then there isn't all that much demand for FP, and disconnecting them should allow more guests to use FP on those rides.
