We are at Coronado right now. Can we ride the skyliner for fun or do we have to be staying at a skliner resort? Where could we catch it?

We did. We were at Epcot and wanted a break. So we took the skyliner from the International Gateway to the CBR and got a frozen drink at the Joffrey’s stand. We got back on and went back to Epcot. You can also get on at HS. If you’re not doing either park, it would be easiest to take bus transportation to HS.

We took a bus from Disney Springs to the Riviera, rode all the skyliner routes, and then took a bus back to DS

You can definitely do this. When we stayed at Coronado, we took the bus to DHS, then hopped on the Skyliner. We didn't do it from Epcot (initially I hadn't thought this through lol) because the bus drops you at the front of the park.
It's a fun outing. We did it one evening from CSR on a day we hadn't been in the parks.

DD and I also rode all the lines from Pop on another trip and stopped at Prima Piatto for lunch. I think that's our new fav counter serve.

Do you catch the one at Epcot outside the park? We are eating breakfast at Boardwalk this morning, and could ride from there. A quick walk over.

Yes, you can Take it from any station including Epcot’s International Gateway.

The Skyliner is my favorite ride at Disney! I'd suggest just taking a bus to HS and getting on there. That's my favorite station.

We rode it! Ate breakfast at Yacht Club and walked over to International Gateway. Rode the whole system in about an hour. No lines at any station midday. A little rough on my back. Of course, I've had lower back pain for about 25 years now.
