Ride seating question

What are the chances that my 6 year old twins and myself will all fit in one seat on the rides? In particular, I'm wondering about Mr.Toads Wild Ride, Autotopia, and the bumper cars at Bugs Land (what a pain if we have to wait in line three separate times so all 3 kids can ride!).

At WDW last year, the three of us fit just fine. But my twins were only 5 then, and of course have grown a bit in the last year. My twins are both really skinny, but I'm a bit "average-plus" :lmao: . My son--who will be almost 5 when we go--is about the same size as the twins, so it won't help to switch him out with one of the girls. I'm just so hoping either Dh or I will fit with two kids on one seat; all 3 of them are slightly ride chickens when it comes to the dark rides, and I know there's no way my twins will agree to riding Mr.Toad or Peter Pan unless dh or I am sitting with them.

I'm going to piggyback your question - I have a 7 yo that is now tall enough for the bigger rides and coasters. Are any of these single seating? I want to be able to sit next to him. Also, will they let my 11 yo ride by himself? There are some rides he wants to do that I won't e.g. Tower of Terror. Can an adult walk through the queue with him?

I think Mr. Toads might be a stretch, but it is possible. They have a car outside the queue that you could check before getting in line.

I wonder at Mr.Toads if they'd let my son sit on Dh's lap, and then one of the girls could ride with him? Looking at the pictures on allears, I have a feeling it might be a tight squeeze. We'll for sure check out the car outside the queue first, before we get in line. Thanks for the suggestion!

I think you'll be fine on everything but Autotopia, Dumbo and Astro Orbiters... those are the only rides that dh, dd and I had to split up and couldn't ride 3 together... so if 2 adults and a child can fit, than 2 kids and an adult should fit!

I don't think it would be to much of a problem... On most of the rides, we had 2 adults (bbw) and a baby sometimes a 4 yrs old.... don't worry if they could fit us in they could fit you all in!!.... Autopia *might* be able to get you all in but it would be tight same with dumbo i got me and the 2 boys in but they are only 1 and 4.... if you really sqeeze maybe lol.... and astro orbit i didn't go on but i don't think there would be much room inless they are short.... because if i remember right it was leg room that there wasn't much of.... but it is a out in the open ride so maybe the twins would ride together.... Everything else shouldn't be to bad!

And alot of the bigger riders are not single style seats they have two seats side by side..... But the going in the line and not going on.... i don't know about that??? I'm sure they have to have a way out for people who freak out and wont ride but i'm sure they don't like to use it.... just ask the front cm's and i'm sure they would be able to tell you..... Or just go on the ride and close your eyes lol :scared:

"bumper cars at Bugs Land"

I can say with near "authority" absolutely not. My 3 year old and I barely fit in there.

One 3 year old in the Toad car outside the queue:

Peter Pan is a bit more generous, and I'd say absolutely for 2 kids and an adult.

Dumbo...we didn't enjoy it, but the three of us fit when DS was 2, I was a size 14, and hubby at 5'10" was about 300, so I imagine an adult and 2 kids would. Recent picture in the news of singer Seal, model Heidi Klum, and one of their kids riding Dumbo (with a bit more room than we had, LOL) shows that 3 is possible, too. :)

quest4dl, I can't think of a single seating coaster at DLR. The seats for Space Mtn are different than at WDW, and are side by side. Even with Splash, where there's a spacer between the seats, the very back seat is a side-by-side seat. And Matterhorn still has cars where you sit one inside the other's legs so you can hold on. :)

We squeezed into Toad and Peter Pan with me (big hips to say the least) 10 year old and my 5 year old. Tight, but fine. Astro Blasters the 10 year old went behind us-- because everybody needs their own blaster to shoot with!

Yeah the bumper cars at DCA in Bugs Land.. No way.

DBF and I couldn't fit in one. And I'm pretty skinny. Tall, but skinny.

Unless your kid is very tiny, then only you 2. But no way 3.

An 11 year old can ride alone. When we were at the parks last month my DD10 and DS8 rode many things alone, including ToT.
I imagine they will let an adult walk through the queue with him but not sure.

I'd let the twins ride together and take your son in the car right behind them. That will probably ease the nervousness.
