I am wondering if anyone can tell me what they think of the following rides for a 9 month old baby? I am thinking as far as (darkness, loud noises or scaryness) I am having trouble deciding what I will feel comfortable bringing him on...?

Snow white's scary adventures
Haunted mansion
Many adventures of Winnie the pooh
Pirates
Great movie ride
Kilimanjaro safari
back lot tour
Ellens energy adventure
nemo

Thanks

I took DD #1 when she was 6 months old on Ellen's Energy Adventure and it was the biggest parenting MISTAKE I have made to date. It is so loud with sudden explosions. From the minute the sun burst at the beginning, my 6 month old started screaming hysterically. And it is a VERY long ride (made even longer with a screaming infant). The minute I managed to sort of calm her down we where then headed through the scary dinosaur section, which set her off again.

It was awful. I felt horrible for the people around us. I ended up trying to nurse her through the whole ride while my mother held her coat over her exposed ear. At one point, DH even tried to get off the ride to find us an exit, lost a shoe, and ended up almost locked outside the park.

When it FINALLY ended, I thought that I had scarred her for life -- my mother thought her hearing was damaged. In the end, of course, she was fine 30 minutes later. However, after that experience, we didn't take the baby on any other rides except It's a Small World, and the Merry-Go-Round. We used baby swap for everything else.

Good luck. It is a great age to take them, just not a great age to take them on rides, in my opinion. (We will be traveling to Disney again this February when DD #1 will be 2 1/2 and DD#2 will be 6 months.)

Just to follow up -- we did take her on Nemo also, and that was fine. We did the Safari as well and it was pretty okay, although at one point there is pretty loud gunfire (this was all before the Ellen's Energy nightmare).

We did these:
Many adventures of Winnie the pooh
Pirates
nemo

and Emery was fine (7 mo last year).

My DS & DH went on HM together while I went to Ariel's grotto with the girls. We skipped the safari last year, thought it was a little bumpy, but she would have been fine, I'm sure.

We've all skipped Snow White, my kids read it was scary & haven't wanted to go on it. And we haven't done Ellen, Back Lot or the Great Movie Ride yet.

no to Snow White, haunted mansion, pirates, ellen's energy adventure (too long), back lot tour (too long -no way to exit and the water and fire may scare him/her)

maybe to winnie the pooh (though watch through the heffalump room and the shot of thunder)

yes to nemo

safari shoud be ok. just realize that once you are on, you are on and cannot exit

i would stick / start with dumbo (outside), teacups (don't have to spin), Belle's storytime in Fairy Tale Garden, magic carpets, and she how they do. if okay, then maybe try some of the other indoor rides - as they are darker to young kids than you realize.

Thank you all so much for you replies and some insight to your experiences.. It is a lot to think about. I would hate to take him on something that ends up scaring him and upsetting him and having no way to get him off... There just isn't a way to really tell I guess. I will remember what you all have said when considering what to go on... Thank you!!
