Richyams: Thought you'd like to know in case you hadn't heard.

I lurk here every now and then and I think I remember seeing Richyams posting here occasionally. I thought you'd like to know that he passed away yesterday. DIS member since 1999. Here's a thread his wife started on the DVC board last night.

I am truly sorry to hear this.

Although I hardly ever agreed with him, he was my first conversation on the DIS and the reason I have the name I do on these boards!! He debated me with respect and dignity and for that he will always have my respect!!

My deepest sympathies to his family. 42 is just too damned young!!!!

Good comment Viking. I think that sometimes some of us might forget that there's real people behind these user names. RIP Rich.

This is really tragic news! 42 years old is way too young to be gone. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Rich personally, he was a very great help to me last year when I was planning a trip for the first time as a new DVC owner.

He was a tremendous asset to these boards and will be sadly missed.

To his family I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. Thanks for allowing us to share a very small part of a great man.

I haven't been over to the DVC board lately, so I didn't know this until now.

I am very sorry to hear this, and like others will miss Rich's presence on these boards.

As I said over on the DVC boards, I can't walk down a long hotel hallway without thinking of Rich's comments with a smile. At least we have another fan we know will always be there to tour the parks with.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and daughter.
