Richard Pryor passes away

Very sad. I saw him months ago at a benefit, or awards show of some kind......he was really in bad shape. RIP.

His comedy and his life were lived "on the edge". His stand-up influenced a generation of comedians, including Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, and Chris Rock.

He won the first Mark Twain American Humor award in 1998, and noted that both he and Twain used humor to decry racial inequities.
