Friday 12th May:
Well, today is our last full day. So it was a case of cram in as much as possible!!
Up for breakfast, me over to Sassagoula's to get the drinks.
I needed to get over to the Animal Kingdom first thing to collect our photo of Expedition Everest (they didn't have it ready a couple of days previous). I jumped into Miss Piggy with the voucher and drove over to AK for opening time. Avonia and Victoria, arose, got ready, and did a bit of retail therapy, very, very slowly.
I arrived at AK, through the gates, over to guest services to get my voucher stamped, force march over to Expedition Everest to the photo collection, handed over my voucher and I got the trainee!!! Oh! Boy! did he take a long time, and it always happens when you're in a hurry. Anyway, photo in hand its another forced march back to the exit. Everybody piling in and me squeezing out. I had the whole of the tram to myself. Back into Miss Piggy for the drive back to POFQ, where Avonia and Victoria had just completed their retail therapy!!!
We needed to get over th MGM because Victoria was desparate to see Beauty and the Beast. We got there in good time and took up our position.
I also managed to get this on video.
We then took the opportunity for a few more Disney Photopass pictures:
Right...quick bite to eat and then back into Miss Piggy for the drive over to the Magic Kingdom.
We got onto "Stitch" as there was no queue. A bit of a disappointment I'm afraid. No wonder there wasn't a queue. I did "enjoy" the belch though. We then grabbed a "Mickey" ice cream and ate this in a nice little garden which was reserved for smokers (no we don't smoke), but of course didn't have any smokers in it (They're usually found smoking in areas they shouldn't be ). Then it was onto Mainstreet to watch a couple of the school marching bands.
It was then off to Mainstreet Station to find "Smith", which, unfortunately we didn't find and the CMs knew nothing about it either.
Carrying on with our "cram it in" day, we returned to Miss Piggy to take us back to POFQ so that we could freshen up and get ready for our evening meal (6.20pm - Grand Floridian Cafe).
We arrived at the GF security at 6.05pm. "Where do we park?" I asked, "over there" said the guard not even looking up. "Over where?" I asked. BIG SIGH....points in the general direction of the hotel, "Over there". I drive to 'over there' but can't see a car park. After scrutinising the area we saw a small sign to the car park. We followed it, and it took us to the exit!!!!!
OK, good old Miss Piggy does a "U"ee again and we retrace our steps. Yep! the sign for the car park definately pointed to the exit! We found someone else..."Cross the road, go through the traffic lights and you're there". Yep! The gentleman was correct. Into the car park - very small and full!! Drove around for 10 minutes, no-one leaving so back to security.
"Do you have anywhere else to park?" I asked,
"Over there" came the grumpy reply without even looking up.
"We've just been to that one and its full, is there anywhere else?".
"If its full you can't get in", came the reply.
It was now 6.20pm and we should be seated.
"Is there anywhere else I can park?"
"Valet"
"where's that?", I asked
"Over there"
OK I worked that one out for myself. Drove up to valet parking, Avonia and Victoria went to get seated and I sat there waiting for Valet parking. 5 minutes was long enough so I found them instead.
Anyway I eventually manage to get to sit down for my meal which was very nice. The waitress though just didn't seem interested. Don't get me wrong, she asked all the right questions etc. but it was all done without feeling. Oh, and the puddings were a joke - my keyline pie was 2.5cm by 1.5cm by 1cm - I know they call them samples but I would have liked to have tasted something. I should have had Ice Cream like Avonia. I'm afraid I don't think I'll be returning the the GF.
We then went to pick up Miss Piggy from Valet parking - $7 plus $2 gratuity!! After what seemed an age they returned with the car. It was now the drive back over to MGM to catch Fantasmic. Again, one last chance for that wonderful photopass opportunity:
...and then into the show. Yes, we did get in without the dinner "pass", and no, they hadn't yet put the British Union flag the correct way around - another reminder needed methinks. I'd like to know if they do correct it.
Absolutely shattered, we returned to Miss Piggy to take us back "home" to POFQ where we got our evening drinks and collapsed into bed.
