Both my son and niece are going to college in the fall. My niece received a mailing from a company called RHL that has bedding and towel sets for college. My sister said niece really wants the purple set and I told her I'd check here into quality. For $199.95 she can get the sheet set, 2 pillows, comforter, fleece throw, mattress pad, egg crate pad, towels and washcloths, a hamper, and a few other things. My sister thinks it would make shopping a lot easier, but I am worried about quality. Has anyone ordered from this company before and can share their opinion?

no, but that is standard info that the ad should have. Whats the thread count? Is it percale, crushed, etc. If its not listed its prob garbage. Personally, Id order thru a reputable store (even HSN or QVC has top quality sets of high thread counts and comfort;)) Why take the chance?

I got that too, and just figured I'd do better with a 20% off bed bath and beyond coupon or penney's sale...or heck, even send her with some existing towels from the back of the linen closet:thumbsup2!!

I can't speak to the quality, just that I bet we don't have to spend that much to send sheets, towels, blankets with our kids to college. If $200 isn't a biggie, than maybe worth not having to shop:confused3

My ds got the same ad last year, but I ended up getting his stuff at Walmart and Bed Bath and Beyond. So far it's all held up fine. Walmart puts out the XL items in a special area (at least mine does) closer to back-to-school. The only thing I got at BBB was an xl mattress zip bag (my ds has allergies). I probably spent about half than the ad. Walmart had the coordinated xl sets-my ds got the red and gray set but they also had purple and girly-theme sets.

She is probably better off waiting until July and shopping at Target or somewhere local.

IF you google RHL you will find quite a few complaints about quality. There are also a number of college message boards that I'm part of that also had more complaints vs satisfied customers.

I was thinking about the all in one ease until I read the reviews.

My son is a Junior next fall and we have both heard from people that the sheets and towels from that company are very low quality. BBB, Target and Walmart will have Xlong Twin sheets for sale this summer. Other stores may also but I don't know which ones. They will also have xlong twin mattress pads, etc. Everyone I know just takes normal length blankets, I don't think anyone sells those.

You may want to check with the school to make sure the beds are xlong twin. Most colleges are. Dean of housing or the admissions people that give tours would know.

We also got a bed caddy from BBB that is fabric and part is put under mattress and part hangs down with pockets to put phone, glasses, chapstick, booklight. Most kids loft their beds and my son wanted everything close to his reach.

From experience, I know their quality was is not up to our expectations. I wouldn't go that route ever again. Kohl's, or BB&B have big selections AND coupons to get more bang for your buck. :goodvibes

The sheets we got were not very good. They a part of the Time Warner corporation. I'm not sure why public Universities are getting in bed with such a large billion dollar corporation. It seems like it would be a conflict of interest.
