Rewards Card Question

I have a co-worker who would like to apply for a rewards credit card to use for their farming/personal expenses.

They don't do Disney, which is the card I use.

What are your suggestions on the best rewards/cash back cards and why. Which ones sould she stay away from?

We mainly use American Express "Blue". There's no annual fee. We get at least 1.5% cash back. (DH is really the one that deals with finances so It may be more for certain things or certain places.) The only drawback is in some places they don't accept AmEx. Around Chicago we can use it everywhere, but when we go to Wisconsin they look at us crosseyed--like "What is that?"

We use the Disney Visa for regular purchases.

But we started recently using our AmEx from Costco on gas, restaurants, and lodging.

On those categories we earn 2-3% instead of Visa's 1%.

You have to have a Costco membership for this particular AmEx.

So many places around here do not take AMex

We already have an AMex, which we've had for yrs & really like

But now I will be needing a MasterCard or VISA.

We have great credit & pay our AMex off every month (yes, I know that looks bad), so I don't need to transfer any debt.

What is a good one to get, low interest (over the long haul).
Not interested in 'teaser' rates or airline miles or Disney Dollars
Want to know how the APR & how it is calculated.

Help! I need to research this, also but I am a financial dummy!

My MasterCard gives me 2% back on every purchase into a Fidelity 529 plan for my kids. No annual fee. We've been able to save a nice amount with this card, as we charge EVERYTHING. I think it may have been lowered to 1.5% back, but I'm still grandfathered (for now) at 2%.
