The other half of my restaurant reviews:
5 stars being the best, 1 star being the worst

YCG (Yacht Club Galley) YC
4 stars
I got the breakfast buffet and dd got a bagel with cream cheese. Buffet was very good, not a whole lot of selection but just enough so that I wouldn't overstuff myself. Everything was fresh, dd even ate some of the watermelon. Her bagel took quite a long time to get to the table though.

If you want a quiet, laid back breakfast this is the place to go. On both trips to the buffet we were the only ones up there:)

GG (Garden Grill) The Land at Epcot
4 stars
We always eat here each visit, sometimes at lunch, sometimes at dinner. This time was lunch. Food was good although I missed the carrots, it was a veggie mix this time which was ok. The flank steak was tender, catfish was good, chicken was tastey and moist, potatoes are good and stuffing delicious. DD had chicken fingers and cucumbers (requested special)...the salad though can use a little less dressing. The dessert was a lemon tart which was a bit too tart for me.

The character interaction is good here. We felt just a little rushed this time and waited a little longer than usual. But dd had just done the Jr Chef Tollhouse baking class and had a chef's hat that Mickey picked up and wrote a message to her. It was cute.

Portebello Yacht Club-Downtown Disney
4 stars
I went here by myself for dinner and let dd stay at the Cub's Den for a few hours. I wanted a nice but quick meal since I was short on time and wanted to shop. I just had the Mozzerela Caprese and Caesar Salad which were both very good and arrived promptly. I also had a delicious glass of Pinot Grigio.

CMC-Cape May Cafe-Beach Club
4 stars
We had breakfast here which was very good. Quality is good, service is good. Juice is just great! Could have done without the strawberry sauce and coconut on the blintzes though, dd would have liked them otherwise (and so would I).

Character interaction is great too. Dale carried my dd off across the restaurant which was cute, she was a little surprised at first (and so was I) but she loved the attention.

I do wish they would have an alternative for kids at the buffets though. DD is not a big breakfast eater and 9.99 is an awful lot for a bagel with cream cheese but I just try to look at it that we're paying for the entertainment. (that was one plus at YCG, they have other items and their buffet is a few dollars cheaper than the character ones)...

JWFLA22,

How did you find the atmosphere of Portobello Yacht Club? I would like to do a late lunch or early dinner here with my family.

Thanks for the reviews. I appreciate your candor!

Thanks for the reviews - I am considering meals at YCG and Portabella.

The atmosphere at Portabello's is a little more upscale than many of the WDW restaurants but still casual. I've been to the restaurant about 3 or 4 times over the past several years and always had a good meal here. I must say though it is quite expensive at dinner.

I was very comfortable dining at the bar alone (there was actually no one else at the bar:)

I saw a lot of corporate people but also some families. I've dined with co-workers and my family here. DD loves the fetticuini alfredo:) If you want to save money go for the late lunch. If you have an AP you also get 10% off your meal.

Both places are worth a try. I'm disappointed YCG is not open for dinner. It was very reasonable when it was open at dinner in the past. The breakfast buffet didn't have too much variety, but yet it was simple that way (less chance of "over eating:;) and good quality but if you prefer you can order other items from the menu.

It was nice to have this choice with a 4 yr old who only eats a bagel or some fruit at breakfast whereas the other buffets only have the choice of a buffet for children even if they only eat a bagel (expensive bagel at $9.99!).
