Hi, we are about to leave in one week and are staying at the Waldorf...This is our first time staying OFF Disney Property and I was very hesitant due to the fact that we are taking two of our 3 children with us. We have a business convention to attend but are also taking the children to Disney, Universal and Seaworld. The reason we picked Waldorf? Well, to be honest we have stayed in just about every resort & home away from home in Disney & we just NEED and WANT to sleep in beds that are comfortable and a tiny bit away from Disney. This will be a ten day trip, we will be staying in a Walforf two bedroom suite, and honestly we need some time to relax in between the daily/nightly parks, along with being able to have some dinners with business partners etc....

It was a hard decision to make, and I am so far very comfortable with our plans due to the amazingly kind staff at the Waldorf. We are planning to use their buses when need be, but will also be using town car service. I am willing to answer any questions after we arrive home (and even while we are there) AND if it is OK with the moderators here, I will post pics of the rooms etc....

Anyone who has questions feel free to ask me, we have already stayed at SSR (at least 3 times), OKW (twice), Grand Floridian, Contemporary & also the Wilderness Lodge (not in that order lol)....I guess we just felt for the $ we are spending, it will sure be nice to not have the 24/7 TV blasting about Disney Vacation Clubs, Disney Channels, and DISNEY DISNEY and MORE DISNEY....As much as I love DISNEY, we are looking for a more laid back, relaxing place this time where we can just sit at the pools, and even play a few rounds of golf. We don't need to the extra magic hrs (even though our children will probably want it).

So again feel free to ask any questions you may have, we will be back home after Oct. 23rd..... :woohoo:

Have a really amazing time!! It would be great if you could post some photos and your impressions of the property, staff, food etc. From the website it looks fabulous and you'll be able to see Disney from your room!! ha !ha!

Can't wait to hear more!

Thanks so much SafetyMom, that was a great podcast =) Also thanks to the other posters!!

I let the person who is helping us book our trip at The Waldorf Astoria about writing a blog about their property. So far I have recieved exremely helpful, detailed responses from this particular individual at The Waldorf. Seemed to be excited that I was going to blog/review the resort and was more than accomodating as per my requests.

So far I have asked for round trip Limo service to and from MCO to The Waldorf Astoria (and vice versa). Also asked for the exact types of tickets we need for Disney, SeaWorld & Universal. Told this person that I wanted the name of the town car service they utilize when we do not want to take the bus, also I inquired about our exact room detail, wanted to make certain the Waldorf Astoria Suite included a balcony, a second bedroom with either two full sized or queen sized beds. I was immediatly sent 3 very detailed emails with answers to every question I asked & included pictures of the Waldorf Suite along with pics of the connecting Deluxe room with two Queen beds. So far no complaints from me :goodvibes We have also inquired about the best resturant onsite where we can take our clients (this is half business half family trip), immediatly I recieved an email about The Bull & Bear steak house, and was told that if we needed privacy they had that in place for us if needed.

I will follow up a bit more tomorrow, but so far I AM not regretting staying onsite at Disney specifically at The Grand Floridian, actually I feel most relaxed and am not even worried about the typical things I usually worry about.

Phew, is all I can say ;)
