Any reviews on the Polynesian Resort from those of you who have stayed there, I would surely appreciate it :) If you have any pics to share or anything in particular to rant and rave about this resort, please do share. I'm most likely leaning to booking this resort for our Disney vacation. Thanks!

We were there last August. We liked it. Having the monorail right there was nice. And the boat to MK was really handy. I would almost say that we used the boat more than the monorail to MK. Being able to walk to the TTC and catch the Epcot monorail was terrific. Eating choices wasn't bad. My dh preferred the smaller food court area there to the one at POR. The rooms were good-sized and bright and clean. The one thing I don't like about the Polynesian is that if it's raining (and it does that a lot during the summer!), and you want to eat, you have to get soaked!! Most of the other deluxes have the ability to eat without getting wet. Is that a deal-breaker for us? No. It's a lovely resort.

We absolutely love the Poly, it is one of our favorite resorts! We love the lush landscaping, the monorail access, the beach, the Castle view, the tiki torches at night, the music, the restaurants - Ohana and Kona Cafe are wonderful! - the boat access to MK and GF, the pool, the warm cm's who say "Aloha!" whenever they see you. Love it, love it, love it!!:sunny:

We stayed there in December of 2002 and loved it.

There's something really magical about this resort, probably because it's a true, original Disney resort.

The rooms are really large, most having balconies. The bathrooms are very spacious, and we loved the shower curtains with the hidden mickeys!

We were lucky enough to get a room in Tokelau, and enjoyed hearing the whistle of the Magic Kingdom train in the morning. There was nothing better than sitting out on the beach in the evening and watching the Electrical Water Pageant go by, then enjoying the fireworks over the castle.

There's so much about this resort that's wonderful....I'm sure you'll fall in love with it!

We love the Polynesian. Our stay next month will be I believe our 31st.

The setting is magical, the grounds beautiful, rooms huge and CMs are great. Two super pools with different advantages and three beaches. The transportation is the best on property. Captain Cooks is open 24 hours. Kona is wonderful for B,L and D.

Have a great trip!

We stayed there in Feb. for the first time and absolutely fell in love with it. We were die-hard Yacht Club/Beach Club fans and were a bit nervous about the Poly. However, we couldn't get an AP rate at the YC/BC so we decided to give it a try. It was FANTASTIC. I always loved the view of Crescent Lake from YC/BC. Let me tell you the Seven Seas Lagoon views put it to shame. The Poly is so convenient - second to none in the convenience category. We loved the relaxing feel and the lush surroundings. Good food and drink too!

In fact, we're going back in 29 days.

Yahooooo.

We have stayed at the Poly 3 times in the last 5 years and love it. Once, we stayed Concierge, the other times were in the Tokelau bldg. We have never had problems with mold or surly CM's. The monorail is especially helpful if you have kids in strollers.

I found it very dark. Our building was far from the Main Bldg. so it was a lot of walking--just to catch transportation. (Maybe someone could advise you to a good location/building for you to request for.) Yes it was still easier to walk a bit and catch the monorail than to stay at an off the loop resort.....but we stayed at the CR in March and that was just better for us. The rooms are big and brighter. We stayed in the tower so the monorail was so much easier to pick up. Chef Mickey and the Concourse rest. were very good. My 2 girls loved the Fun Center place( arcade/snack). We just had a better experience. We got a discount code and that made the rate affordable to us. Good luck in your search---I don't think you'll go wrong with either.

We just got back from there on Saturday and we LOVED it!! We received all of our requests. We requested Samoa 3rd floor.. We received the Volcano view and although it was a bit noisy the view was FANTASTIC. I would consider this view Lagoon View with Garden View price!! We could clearly see Grand Floridian and some of the fireworks if we were sitting in a certain spot... I LOVED this view! It was a great location. Right next to the pool and a very short walk to the Cermonial House and restaurants! I can't wait to stay here again...

We have stayed at the Poly several times and LOVE it! If you have children the breakfast at O'hanas is wonderful and entertaining. We love Captain Cooks, the food it good and you can either eat inside or outside. The volcano slide at the pool is great fun for children and adults. To sit on the beach at night and listen to the water and wait for the firworks in either the hamock, which we have fallen asleep in, or in the canapy chairs is WONDERFUL! Sometimes during the heat of the day when we are coming back to the hotel for a break we take the boat, which goes from the MK to GF, and then to Poly, we will just ride it around a couple of time, very nice! I also had a good friend who said that her and DH were on the boat dock having drinks around sunset the first day they were there and the boat came by and the CM told them to hop on and enjoy the sunset and drinks on the boat ride, so them and there children hopped on and rode around for awhile. The walk around the grounds is not back you can always find short cuts through buildings rather than go around them and the landscape is beautiful. You can also enjoy the ducks walking around and the rabbits nibbling on the flowers. Also don't forget when you first get there and you receive your laes and everyone says Aloha to you then they pack you up in the oversized gold cart and ride you around the grounds showing you where everything is before taking you to your room. Now I am truly homesick for the POLY! Go for it and I promise you will have a great time!;)
