I have booked a 1br suite at the Wyndham Palace Hotel and would like to hear from anyone who has stayed there. I know the location is great but how are the guestrooms - specifically the suites? Thanks!

The 1 Bedroom suite is great. The suites are located in the smaller bldg across from the main bldg. It is closest to the pool and also a shorter walk to Downtown Disney. The room is great. You walk into a large living room area with queen size fold out couch, wet bar area with fridge and microware. The main bedroom had 2 queens and a large bathroom. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed at the Wyndam 11/29/02 & 11/30/02. In spite of having just joined "Wydham By Request" to get a super internet rate of $55/night (plus resort fee plus tax), we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite at check in. There was fresh fruit and drinks waiting for us in our room (Wyndham By Request perk. Be sure to join before you go if you haven't already). We also received several coupons at check in - we especially appreciated the one for complimentary champagne at the lounge near Arthurs on the 27th floor. There's a spectacular view of the World up there. I think the coupons were something special for the Thanksgiving Holiday, though.

The bedroom of our suite had a king size bed. There were 2 TVs and a half bath off the living room . The bath off the bedroom had a separate sink/vanity area and both a tub and separate shower in the room with the toilet. The mini-kitchen area had a small refrigerator (dorm size), a microwave, sink, and a coffee maker. Our balcony overlooked the pool area. We were very pleased with our room - it was clean and roomy. I believe the living room sofa was a pullout, but since there were only two of us, we didn't look.

Loved the location - right across the street from DD MarketPlace. We walked to PI one evening, even though there is a bus in the evenings. Didn't swim as it was too cold for us. Would stay there again, especially for the great rate.

Enjoy your stay.

CarolMN, which site did you go through to get that rate? That's a pretty amazing rate and I'm glad you got an upgrade :p

It was a Wyndam promotion for its "Wyndam By Request" members. The promotion was 50% off the best available rate, but you had to be a member of WBR and book over the internet (from their site). If you were not already a member, you could join over the internet, get your membership number immediately and then book the special.

Read about the promotion on this board - it expired some time ago, though.

As far as the upgrade, apparently, WBR members are often upgraded - I'm sure it depends on availability.

All in all, it was a very good deal, at a great hotel in a super location! I would not have known about if it weren't for the wonderful people who post on this board.

Oh okay! :) Thanks for the tip! I remember that promotion but didn't think too much about it because I couldn't take the time off work.

I stayed at the Wyndham Palace on my last trip! I had a great time there ... I had a couple of problems with the WBR program. The hotel got my WBR # but my preferences didn't get downloaded for some reason so we didn't get our welcome gift :( The manager was great about fixing the problem and sent us a huge fruit and cheese platter and a bottle of wine! Next time though, I will call the hotel directly to make sure everything is in order

As others have noted, definitely take a few minutes to join "Wyndham By Request", fill out your guest profile, and have your Wyndham By Request member number added to your reservation record. You will have a welcoming snack and beverage waiting in your room. If you are traveling with a laptop, you will have free access to a high-speed internet ethernet port in your room. You also get free locals calls and domestic long distance, although I think that may not kick in until your second stay if you are just joining now.

I stayed at the Wyndham Palace on a business trip in September and was very pleased with my stay. As I walked to my room from the elevator, I remember thinking that the hallway looked a little run-down, but as soon as I walked in the room any misgivings disappeared. Very nice, from the king bed to the Herman Miller desk chair that I frequently used when catching up on work back at the office. (Hey, it was a business trip!) :earsboy:

I was wondering who made those desk chairs ... I loved those chairs!! They were so comfy :p

I stayed there earlier this month and I couldn't have been happier. I liked it way more than the Contemporary which is the only other Disney resort I've stayed at. I didn't have a suite but I did get that awesome WBR rate of 55.00 a night and my room was huge, not to mention beautiful. I would definitely stay there again. :)
