Anybody been to this? I'm having a hard time finding any reviews. We are gonna try it with the Fantasmic dining this summer. We've never been to H+V so just curious.

Also curious about the character interaction. Thanks!!!

I was just coming to post this ... interested in seeing if anyone has dined there recently since they switched to summer and what the food / atmosphere consisted of. Hopefully there will be a review of it soon :-)

Or even of the Springtime Dine. I just haven't seen much. I know not to expect too much from H+V but just curious.

has anyone gone to Hollywood and vine/Minnie's seasonal dine as a vegetarian? we were thinking of going for the Halloween version and fantasmic package but I'm worried about spending $100 for 2 people and not being able to eat much of anything.

I don't know how strict you are, like no chicken broth, etc. But they do have some nice salads, good assortment of sides and a veggie pasta dish. Oh and they usually have a tomato Florentine soup that's really good. I would honestly only expect the desserts to change at the Halloween one. That was pretty much the only change for the Christmas one that we did last year.

We enjoyed the holiday dine in November. We are going back again this November. The character interaction was great and lots of good food choices. I am gf and had many options, including a house made brownie which was delicious. They had tons of regular dessert options too.

I am curious about this too... Especially if Tusker House prices are indeed going up as rumored it may be worth it to us to just see the holiday characters. My big concern is the food though as I've heard a lot of really terrible ones for Hollywood and Vine on here. I know that it's more for the characters but I don't want the food to be too too bad.

Also- how do you book this on the website? I see that the description is under the H&V page but not sure what I'm missing. Thank you!

We did the seasonal dine a couple of weeks ago and loved it. The character interaction was great (we saw the characters multiple times and my son chased each of them around the restaurant with his pirate hook). The food was good, hot, and a lot of variety. We enjoyed it much more than the Akershus dinner the next night. You have to be careful with the fantasmic dining, though. The night we did it, fantasmic was cancelled due to thunderstorms. We were so disappointed since it was our only night at HS. We had to just say that at least we got a great character dinner out of it instead of 2 for 1.

We found many things that were very good. All hot and fresh, which may have been in part due to the early seating for Fantasmic. The butternut squash soup was amazing!

That is great to hear! Maybe you could instructs me on how to book it? My 180 hasn't come up yet but I'd be looking at mid-December? Much appreciated!

You have to specifically choose Fantasmic dining option. You can't book through Hollywood and Vine. You also can't book on the app.

Thanks for mentioning that. Planning to do this meal in October when the characters will be in Halloween costumes which sounds darling, and you've given me hope that food will be OK.

I have always found the soups at Disney buffets to be quite good, and I love a well made butternut squash soup. :)

We did Minnie's Springtime Dine in April and my 4 yr old and I enjoyed it. To keep it in perspective, we set our expectations a little lower recognizing it was buffet food, and not gourmet. We thought the meal was decent, not horrible, but just OK. Character interaction was great for my kiddo and I had no complaints.

thank you so much for the advice! we're stricter as far as like no chicken stock, lard etc but we do eat eggs. the butternut squash soup sounds great though, maybe it'll worth the risk to see the characters in their costumes!
