The menu looks good at GFC, but I was wondering what people thought who have actually eaten there. Thanks!

I haven't eaten there but my aunt and her kids ate there last summer and loved it. It was their favorite meal on their trip and they go to WDW at least twice a year.

Since we love to stay at the GF, we've had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the GF Cafe, and while we liked dinner the least, we enjoyed all our meals. Both the food and the ambience are enjoyable. They have great breakfast choices, great sandwiches and burgers, and great kids' choices and desserts in general.

:sunny:

We have eaten there several times and have enjoyed it a great deal.

They make a very good cheeseburger. Also, they have these little desserts .. sized so you can get more than one! The Key Lime Pie is wonderful!

We like to sit by the window and look out over the beautiful GF grounds. The service has always been fine, but super, but fine.

we have been pondering about this restaurant and wonder if anyone could advise about its suitability as a venue for a small (10 people) wedding luncheon. We are getting married of site but would love to celebrate afterwards at a disney resort, parks are out as you cant wear your wedding dress in the parks.

All the reports ive read say its a lovely light airy restaurant with lovely views which is what we would be looking for but im abit concerned at probably eating burgers and sandwiches as our wedding meal. The trouble is that the children are very picky eaters and some of the posher restaurants even if they were open at lunchtime would just be too fancy.

Can anyone advise/reasure that the GF Cafe would be a good choice.

Atmosphere-wise I think it would be a good choice for a wedding party luncheon. Besides the sandwiches they do have a fish entree and pasta entree on the menu.

Another possibility would be Portobello Yacht Club, I think the atmosphere there is nice and has a menu that is both adult and kid friendly.

In either case you may want to contact the restaurant directly to inform them that you will be a wedding party, they may put in a more secluded area. Also the Cafe may have a "private party" menu which may have more entree like dished on it.

I love the GFC for lunch...it's light and airy and so cheerful. I think it would be a good atmosphere for a wedding luncheon...

Breakfast there is delightful! Our server was lovely and he managed to upsell us (without our even realizing it) on a fruit platter to start with (beautiful fresh fruit and dipping yogurt), orange juice and the extra sauce for someone's brunch dish. However, everything tasted so good, we decided that next time we go, we'll order those same extras!

thanks for all the replies the GF cafe is certainly on the short list now.

ive checked the menu lists on allears and there is no mention of alcohol, do they serve any? dont think it would be much of a celebration without a glass or two to do a toast with.....could you let me know please whats likely to be available

many thanks

Oh yes they do server alchohol. Several times now, we have gotten massages at the spa in the morning and then have lunch in the Cafe where I have a glass or two of wine

We had an excellent dinner there, it was the best meal of our whole trip. DH and I both had the NY Strip, both DD's had pizza and loved it.

Mom always gets a glass of champagne at lunch (with a big strawberry on the glass) so alcohol is a go there!

*sigh*...I want to be there having lunch right now!!!

Has anyone ever tried the chicken or shrimp salad sandwiches on the lunch menu at GF Cafe? Sure sounds yummy. Now which one to choose... :scratchin

We ate there on our last trip and it was a very good lunch!! I also ordered the cinderella slipper dessert for the girls and had it personalized. It was a nice surprise for them.

We ate at Grand Floridian Cafe last December and really enjoyed it. The food and service were both very good. It was our first visit there and we will be back in the future.
