I've been reading lots of the reviews over at Tripadvisor of the Gaylord Palms resort, and they seem to be hit or miss. I can't decide if it is just a matter of the noise from the atrium that is the problem, or the expense of the restaurants there.

The pictures that were posted here yesterday were lovely, and I'd really like to book a stay here. Does anyone here have an honest, down-to-earth review of the Gaylord from a recent stay?

I went back and read what was posted on the thread about hotels with atriums, and I think I've gathered a good share of reviews from that. I didn't mean to offend anyone that those reviews weren't enough. (Hope no one took that the wrong way---I surely didn't mean that what had been posted wasn't review enough for me.).

I do have this to say about the Gaylord Palms. After calling a few times to check on a variety of things, I give them a :thumbsup2 for customer service! I thought they were helpful and very courteous. If they are in any way upon check-in as they are over the phone, they have my vote, hands down, for return business.

I'm saying all this because I did attempt to price a Disney reservation for the same time period, and it almost feels like going through the great inquisition just trying to get a price on a room. I was even asked my child's date of birth (and he's not even near 10 or 12!!). That is a bit too much TMI for me!!!

The persons I spoke to at Gaylord were very professional, friendly and helpful. I'll take that any day over playing 20 questions with the Disney call center! ;)
