I am interested in the dinner buffet and I seem to find more reviews on breakfast than anything else.

We had a character lunch once a while back at MGM that was so aweful we decided we would only eat at character breakfast buffets. Then, we had such a *blah* time at Chef Mickey's breakfast last December that we sort of swore off character meals BUT this one looks pretty good.

To get a feel for what we like: LOVE Le Cellier, Ohanas, Crystal Palace (breakfast only), Teppenyaki and, though we didn't quite "love" Makaresh and Boma's, we really enjoyed them.

Is this dinner buffet worth it, or would I be better off booking something like Spoodles?

We did the Park Faire character buffet a couple of years ago. The food looked great, but everything seemed rather bland to us. They had a nice selection of items but we were disappointed since it was from the Grand Floridian. We did see a lot of the characters (it was Pooh and Friends that year); everyone came by at least once, some even twice. If you don't care about meeting the characters, I would suggest another restaurant. I've never been to Spoodles so I can't offer an opinion.

We like 1900 Park Fare. It was Cinderella theme - prince, mice, Cinderella was in the front. We tend to do character dinners vs. breakfast. Service at GF is indifferent - however I think the food is good. We love Le Cellier! Spoodles food is good - Mediterranean, tapas flair, casual inside, loud accoustics.

We just went there for dinner last week and had a great time. There was plenty to choose from for dishes and a decent tasty variety. There were 2 pasta dishes that I have never had at a Disney buffet, one withg a red sauce and one with a white sauce, the mussel dish was not the same as other buffets and The Prime Rib was cooked to perfection this night. Many different salads and the cold strawberry soup.

Another buffet that I ate too much!

The characters were great and I thought the service was decent, not great but decent.

just back from WDW last week... we ate at Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 PF. It was AWFUL. the buffet was bland and the surroundings were nothing special. we had such excellent meals elsewhere that week that this was our least favourite. Which was a total pity, since it was the meal our daughter was looking forward to most.

My opinion - find Cinderella elsewhere.

We had an excellent experience for dinner. Our party ranged in ages from 2-35 and everyone was able to find several dishes to enjoy. The strawberry soup was fabulous and I had to stop myself from filling up on that. We had a great server who transparent until a dish needed to be taken or a drink refilled - then shazam he was there.

Like too many of the Disney restaurants I think satisfaction is touch-and-go. We'd be willing to try it again because we had such a good experience.

We went and celebrated both my daughters and her friends bdays there. Was not impressed with character interaction for my daughter is was great she was scared at 4. The other little girl was 6 and she would have loved for more attention. They were not very interactive at all. Food was ok something for every one. thee were 13 of us. Ages from 4-65.

We loved it! We went there for dinner Sept. 2005 and had a great time- we thought the food was good- especially the bananas foster!

We were at 1900 PF a couple of weeks ago & I have to say... I'd do it a million times over!! GREAT service, wonderful food (salmon to die for) and the interaction was awesome!! DD5 celebrated her 5th birthday there and was chosen to help with opening ceremony and she got a HUGE cupcake and they sang etc!! Would recommend over & over!!

I am amazed at the differences of opinion about this meal. Is it just varying opinions or can the meals be that different from night to night?

Have ADR for October.
Thanks

Keep ypur ADR. Every place has people who love it and people who hate it.

Ate there last September and will be eating there again this September. While it wasn't at the level of Le Cellier, the food was good and there was a wide selection.

Whatever you do, don't skip the Strawberry soup!! When making ADR's for this year, DD made sure that we scheduled the 1900 PF not for Cinderella and the mice, but for the strawberry soup!!

I also agree that there will be people who like and dislike every restaurant on property...I encourage you to check it out!!

We did not like this one at all. The food was blah, the service was not good, and the character interaction was so-so. The mice rocked-Cinderella must have had a terrible day before she came to work because she was super grouchy-Prince Charming never came to our table. We actually complained to the manager, which is something we do not usually do. He offered to credit our dining plan credits back, but we were leaving the next morning, so he comped our adult beverages and my dd's meal (we were paying OOP for her).

I would say the quality does vary from night to night. We were there on the same trip for breakfast, and while it wasn't our favorite meal, it was acceptable. I had the strawberry soup both times. For breakfast it was good, but at dinner it was horrible. It tasted like straight sugar colored red. Ick!

We chose this dinner in May 2004 because we easily got a reservation as opposed to trying to do CRT for breakfast. We had a very early ADR and were seated promptly, however it seemed to take forever for the characters to begin to rotate through the room--since we were one of the very first families seated we thought we would get to see the characters right away--not so. It took at least a 1/2 hour into the meal with a 3 yr old and 10 month old before even the mice got to our table. The food was nothing special, and definitely not worth the expense. Cinderella floated by much too quickly, although the mice came back several times and were fun. I would not do this one again. Also, we never saw the Fairy Godmother and since my girls were only interested in Cinderella it was kind of a let down. Also, as one reviewer mentioned, the place reminded me of a Friendly's restaurant--the atmosphere was nothing special and the way the buffet was set up I just really felt like I was in a cafeteria.

My husband and I ate at Spoodles many years ago and found the food very tasty, but expensive. I don't have a recent experience there--if you're looking for a fun atmosphere with kids though maybe try Liberty Tree Tavern. I haven't tried that one yet but I've seen lots of good reviews and with kids it would be a different character meal to try. Good Luck!

We went on our trip last week. The highlight for us was DD was chosen to do the Opening Ceremony and pull the ribbon to open the doors! Truly a Magical Moment!

We did not care for the food. The Strawberry Soup was wonderful but the salads and some of the meat were not up to my picky eaters liking. The rolls were harder then rocks and the desserts were ok, but not great.

I also thought the room was bland. Nothing magical about it, if you ask me. The set up for the bar was not easy to move around.

The character interaction was good though. They floated around the room and made sure to hit everyone. They stopped at our table a couple of times thru the dinner.

All in all I was disappointed. I'm not sure if we will go back. If we do, it will be because DD wants to see Cinderella as I will not pay for the Castle.

Ok the restaurant itself is not as fancy as Crystal Palace, nor the character interaction as good. For me, being in the GF resort was magical, having prince charming come to my table was great. The pasta station was delicious freshly cooked!, restaurant was noisy though. Desserts nothing special at all. I give it 8/10.

We've been to both breakfast and dinner. We did the breakfast buffet on Christmas Day and the dinner buffet just last week.

The food overall is what I would consider good at both, but not really anything special. Boma is what I would consider special and unique.

The room is certainly nothing special as it reminds me of just a large, hotel business conference type room. The ambience is much better at the Princess Storybook meal at Norway in Epcot.

I don't like the food set up at 1900 Park Fare. It's crowded, awkward, and confusing.

The character interaction is as good or better, than any other character meal that we've been to.

Having said all of that, we wouldn't have missed either one. My granddaughter's joy at being there was worth it.

Thanks for this review. We were thinking of 1900 for our last night. This sounds exactly what we will not be looking for.
