Short Christmas trip at WL 12/25-12/28:

12/25/04: Checked in the afternoon and snacked at the Roaring Forks, we shared a blueberry muffin and banana nut muffin with hot chocolate. Very yummy.

Dinner was at Boma's. We really enjoyed the different selections and tried a lot of new things. The tamarind BBQ sauce was incredible. I also liked the coconut rice (my DH didn't care for it). The potatoes with Afritude were very spicy but good. I liked the salmon and one of the soups (I forgot what it was, but it was creamy and a little sweet, very good). The desserts were great; I couldn't get enough of those zebra domes! but I also liked the bread pudding. We tried one of the red African wines (I forgot which one); it was ok, but not great. Overall a B+

12/26/04: Light breakfast at Roaring Fork; croissant and oatmeal.

Lunch at Whispering Canyon. We loved the BBQ sauce; some ribs were good, others were greasy, but overall enjoyed it. We liked the mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Service was good, but could have been better... Our server was very slow, but she redeemed herself at the end of our meal when my DD7 asked her when they were going to do the pony rides. She went right to the front and started it herself. That made up for the minor inconvenience of being slow before... we were not in a hurry to go anywhere anyway.... and she was nice. I give this a B+

We had dinner at the food court since we had such a big lunch. DH and I had the clam chowder and DD7 had the kid's chicken fingers. They had some printer glitch and we waited and waited for our kid's order to come out and nothing... I went up to the pickup window with my receipt and the cook apologized for the delay, told me he would get right on it and true to his word, he had them in just a few minutes, plus gave me a free fruit cup for the inconvenience. I thought that was very nice.

12/27/04: Same breakfast as day before.
Lunch at Tusker House in AK. This is my favorite counter service restaurant in WDW. The food here is superior to any other I have tried. I had the roast chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. DH had the fried chicken sandwich (which was great; I'll have that next time!). We used dining vouchers from the DVC presentation and it included dessert. I had the carrot cake and DH had the cheesecake. Very large portions and both were yummy.

Dinner at the Cali Grill. We didn't have a PS and decided to check if they had any openings on a whim. They didn't but suggested we seat at the bar, so up we went. It was my first time at CG and was totally blown away when I saw the view... all I can say is WOW! The bar was empty so we sat down, ordered some excellent wine and started with an oyster chowder that was delicious. DH and I decided to share our meal and they just split the soup into two bowls. I thought that was a really nice touch. They did the same with our main course, the grilled steak. Wow, it just melted in my mouth; almost no knife required. It was served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. For dessert we had the apple pagoda... it was incredible. The service was impecable and we really enjoyed the informal atmosphere at the bar. This one gets an A++++

We left early on 12/28 so have nothing to report.
