I just got back from our vacation. I got so much information from this site that I just had to come back and add my own reviews.

Background: My sister is a cast member so we had an awesome discount on the dining plan. It was well worth it. There were 6 of us with a wide variety of tastes. Some seafood lovers, a picky eater (me), my brother who only like plain burgers/chicken/etc and my mom who will eat anything.

We went to: Cap N Jack's, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose, Crystal Palace, Ohana's, Teppan Edo, 1900 Park Fare.

I will also add some of our counter service and snacks opinions.

Sorry we didn't take any pictures

Cap N Jack's --- We spent the day shopping around Downtown Disney after watching the steeler game. :headache: My brother and I do not like seafood but we chose the restaurant b/c my mom and sister like lobster.

We really liked this place. My mom and sister had the crab cakes and enjoyed them. Others had the shrimp and said ti was good. My brother liked his caesar salad and I enjoyed my spinach and artichoke dip (plenty for everyone). We also got the smoothies as our drinks (allowed on the dining plan) and they were great.

Most of our party had the 2 lobster tails and they all enjoyed them. My brother and I had the pot roast with mashed potatoes. It was delicious. My brother said that was his favorite meal!

Desserts were good but we were kind of full so it was hard to fully enjoy them. We all got either the double chocolate cake or the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. All were yummy. The chocolate cake is served warm with ice cream.

Overall we really like it here. We were seated 15 minutes earlier then our reservation and our service was good so we tipped her extra.

Le Cellier-- We planned our vacation late so I had a hard time getting a reservation here. But we managed to have lunch at 1:30.

We were allowed to have the mango smoothie as our drink here on the dining plan (they also made other flavors).

Most of us got the beer cheese soup as our appetizer and we all really enjoyed it. We also liked the pretzel bread. The others were just ok. My mom enjoyed her spicy chicken and chipotle sausage.

Half of us ordered the filet. Currently it is being served with sweet potatoes but we substituted with yukon potatoes. The filets were all cooked the way we asked. The rest had the strip steak and there were no complaints!

Desserts: My mom and sister had the creme brulee and they both said it was very good. A few of us had the chocolate moose. It was also good. My other sister ordered the warmed spice apple crumble. The crumble part had pumpkin in it and it was served with maple icecream. I tasted it and it was good.

We had great service here. We all left full and satisfied. I would definately recommend it.

Mama Melrose -- We were spending the day at MGM and were staying to see Fantasmic so we thought this would be a good choice since we all like Italian food.

Overall this meal was just ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything great either. It was no better or worse then any chain restaurant for italian food.

Appetizers -- I had the artisan bread and it was just ok. My brother and brother in law both enjoyed their casaer salad but wanted more.

I had the chicken parmesan. It was very big. I thought it was pretty good. Two had the steaks and they were ok. My mom got spicy italian sausage and said it was just ok. She thought the sauce was very acidy (if that is a word!). My other sister had the wood grilled chicken pasta with cream sauce. She also said it was just ok.

Desserts were the tiramisu which I can't remember if they enjoyed or not. The rest of us had the warm chocloate truffle cake. i don't think any of us enjoyed it too much. I think we like our chocolate a little sweeter.

Crystal Palace -- We scheduled a breakfast here before the park opened. It was nice to enter the empty park and get pictures of the castle.
Also everyone in my family loves breakfast. So this was a perfect choice for us.

The characters were pooh, piglet, tigger and eeyore. I have read where people have waited and waited for characters to make it see them. They made it around to our table two times.

The buffet was good. They had a made to order egg station which was nice. I loved the breakfast pizza. It was so good. My sisters loved the potatoes. Everything was hot and fresh. My only complaint was the bacon always seemed a little under cooked. I like it crispy.

Our waitress visited us often to refill drinks and clear plates. Overall we all enjoyed our meal. It was a great way to start the day. I was completely full and didn't have lunch that day.

Ohana's -- I was nervous about this one due to the mixed reviews on this board. But I wanted to give it a try. We had a 7:20 reservation and the place was packed. We sat in the lobby and had a few drinks from the bar. We were seated right on time, but it did seem like mass confusion at the sign in place and I saw a lot of upset people up at the podium. But we had no problems.

We have a peanut allergy so we had to wait for the chef to come out and speak to us. This took a little bit of time but was not a problem. After the chef came out it did take a us a long time to get our first round of food.

The wontons were good. I liked the peanut sauce. The wings were ok. We each just ate one. I didn't have any shrimp so I can't comment. We all loved the salad and asked for more. We also loved the potatoes and got more of those also.

We all liked the turkey and steak. I was a little worried about what kind of cut of steak we would get. But it was very tender. Most of use liked the pork, but we all hated the sausage.

My brother couldn't have the bread pudding b/c of the risk of cross contamination with nuts at the bakery. The chef personally came out and gave him some creme brulee, and a huge sunday with tons of fixings. My brother said he was full but did eat it all.

We all enjoyed the bread pudding and loved the bananas foster sauce. I was worried about the sauce b/c I am not a banana eater, but you really couldn't tell. It was so good, my mom kept pouring some on her plate and dipping her fork in it and licking it!

Overall we all enjoyed Ohana's and feel everyone should at least try it once. Our waitress was slow with getting our drinks and refilling them. We didn't see her much during the meal. When the chef brought out my brothers dessert he didn't bring a spoon. We didn't see our waitress for a long time afterwards to ask for one. By the time she came back it was mostly melted.

Teppan Edo -- We were very excited about this one and it did not disappoint. We had a very late reservation (it was really hard to get).

Our chef was great. He did a great job with his presentation. It is very loud in this restaraunt so at times it is very hard to hear/understand the chef. It is also a lot of bowing!

I had the salad with oriental dressing and it was good. I can't remember anyone elses.

The vegetables and noodles were delicious.

Most of us got chicken or steak or the combo of the two. One sister got steak and shrimp. It was plenty of food. Each of the sauces were good but I liked the ginger sauce the best. (the other two were a mustard, and then a fish/white sauce)

The desserts were interesting. I got the chocolate ginger cake. I didn't like the bottom layer (with the ginger) but the top was delicious. But I don't go to these types of places for dessert.

We all left extremely full. The meal was great. I thought it was much better then the ones we have at home (like Benihana's).

1900 Park Fare -- This was our last day and we had a later flight. So the this late breakfast/brunch (10:40) was a perfect choice for us.

Everything at the buffet was hot and good. They had an omelet station. And the bacon was much better at this breakfast. It was thick and fully cooked! I enjoyed the breakfast pizza again but thought the one at Crystal palace was better. The strawberry soup was good and so was the fresh fruit.

The characters were mary poppins, alice in wonderland, the madhatter, and also pooh and tigger (which was a surprise). We saw the first three characters once but pooh and tigger made it to our table twice. I have read that the mad hatter is loud and obnoxious. But this was not the case (not sure it was a different guy playing him). He was very quiet and just walked around and said hello. Very polite.

The resort is very nice. We did not feel rushed at all. It was a good brunch. We were sad to leave our vacation.

I've just started looking places to book our ADRs and your review provided a great start.

Counter Services

Wolfgang Pucks (downtwon)-- The pizza's were all very good. My sister enjoyed her macaroni and cheese. It was a huge portion. My brothers chicken fingers and fries were standard. The pasta was good also. The desserts were just ok but we didn't care. This is an awesome value for a counter service.

Earl of Sandwich (downtown)-- The line for this place is huge but it moves quicker then I thought. The wraps were huge, the sandwiches were made fresh. I liked my club. You had lots of choices for a side or dessert. We liked this place so much that we stopped before we went to the airport and got sandwiches to go.

Pizzafari (animal kingdom) -- Pizza and chicken casaer salad were good. Chicken parm was not too good. The minuite maid icee's were good for dessert.

Backlot Express -- All of our food was hot and tasted good (hamburgers, chicken fingers and fries). The service was bad. We were the first people in line and waited forever for our food. The cheesecake for dessert was good. You could also get a coke float for your drink.

All my other counter services I used for breakfast at our hotel twice. (All-star movies resort). I got a breakfast sandwich each day and it was pretty good.

Snacks -- I used one snack for a cinnamon roll from the main street bakery. I went before the parade and it was packed. The cinnamon roll was huge. I enjoyed it.

I also got a corn muffin in animal kingdom from the flame tree barbeque. It was pretty good.

At magic kingdom I tried a dole whip float. I didn't get the pineapple soft serve in it. I got the mix of vanilla and pineapple. It was good.

I saved up some snacks and went to the goofy candy company on the last day. I created my own snack (dipped oreo with chocolate, peanut butter cups and more chocolate), and got a peanut butter cookie. The rest of the week I used my snacks to have a bagel for breakfast.

The dining plan was great for us. We got to eat so much food and not worry about paying or stressing about cost.
