Was pretty disappointed in it. And for two primary reasons:
1. It needs to decide what it's going to be. I know that Henson's original "purpose" for the Muppets was to gear the comedy to adults, while still being appealing to kids. But ever since the movies started in 1979, it seems like that was flipped. My kids were pretty excited to watch last night's episode, but I had heard that it might be geared towards adults, so I watched it first. And while I didn't find it offensive at all, they did kinda toe the line, theme-wise. I'm not super-uptight about what I let my kids watch at their current ages, but I think I'll hold off on them watching it for now. If they're going to make adults their target demo, just put it at 9 and market it that way.
2. It needs to be funnier. It had its moments, but it just felt really forced. A lot of pilot episodes feel that way, so it's normal. I just think the writing needs to be stronger.
All of that said, I'll give it another shot, and I still love the Muppets. The show just needs to find a groove and stay in it.
