We went to the Arabian Nights dinner show last night and I wanted to write a review while it was still fresh in my mind. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, so don't shoot the messenger. If I had to do it over again, I would not choose this show. I had heard good things about it, but our experience was not positive. When I pay that kind of money for a dinner show, I expect clean facilities, hot food and a decent show, we got none of the above.
We arrived 1 1/2 hours before the performance because we were told seats were assigned on a first come first serve basis. No problem there, we picked up our pre-paid tickets, waited in line about ten minutes and then were assigned seats. Then the waiting began in the outer hallway. One patron standing next to me, made a comment that they want everyone to come early so they would spend money at the cash bar. After waiting for over an hour, I was inclined to agree. There were a total of eight benches, so sitting was not an option. By the time they allowed us to be seated, the crowd was not very happy anymore. One poor employee made the mistake of walking through the crowd on the way across the room and was stopped constantly by people who had been waiting and waiting and waiting. They finally opened the doors 15 minutes before the show was suppose to start. And you can imagine the mad rush to get to seats.
One major problem I encountered was that they allowed smoking in the hall and dining area. A problem for me since cigarette smoke and I don't get along. This is the first time I have ever encountered a dinner show that allowed smoking. It never even dawned on me to ask about it. My fault! I won't make that mistake again.
Well we finally get to our seats and my 17 year old daughter and I immediately sit down in a big puddle of beer left over from the early show. The hall is dimly lit, so we would have never seen it if we had looked, but neither one of us was happy. I guess they don't wipe things down in between shows. Actually, they don't even pick up very much. Both my teens made comments about the hall being "messy". And coming from my teens, that's saying something, neither one of them is a neatnik!
The food takes forever, it was cold when we finally got it, the waiter disappears on a regular basis, I got one glass of water, never asked about a refill, or if we needed anything else for that matter. I could go on and on.
The show, what can I say about it. What country western and American pride has to do with Arabian Knights, I'm still trying to figure out. Poorly organized, long and drawn out in places. We got so tired of the one girl dancing with her veils, and it seemed to happen over and over and over.
Bottom line is that without a great deal of improvements, I would not recommend this show. I've been to other shows and can't help but compare. Dixie Stampede in Tennessee was heads and tails above this and quite a bit cheaper.
Like I said, it's my opinion, take it for what it's worth.
