We went to the Arabian Nights dinner show last night and I wanted to write a review while it was still fresh in my mind. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, so don't shoot the messenger. If I had to do it over again, I would not choose this show. I had heard good things about it, but our experience was not positive. When I pay that kind of money for a dinner show, I expect clean facilities, hot food and a decent show, we got none of the above.
We arrived 1 1/2 hours before the performance because we were told seats were assigned on a first come first serve basis. No problem there, we picked up our pre-paid tickets, waited in line about ten minutes and then were assigned seats. Then the waiting began in the outer hallway. One patron standing next to me, made a comment that they want everyone to come early so they would spend money at the cash bar. After waiting for over an hour, I was inclined to agree. There were a total of eight benches, so sitting was not an option. By the time they allowed us to be seated, the crowd was not very happy anymore. One poor employee made the mistake of walking through the crowd on the way across the room and was stopped constantly by people who had been waiting and waiting and waiting. They finally opened the doors 15 minutes before the show was suppose to start. And you can imagine the mad rush to get to seats.
One major problem I encountered was that they allowed smoking in the hall and dining area. A problem for me since cigarette smoke and I don't get along. This is the first time I have ever encountered a dinner show that allowed smoking. It never even dawned on me to ask about it. My fault! I won't make that mistake again.
Well we finally get to our seats and my 17 year old daughter and I immediately sit down in a big puddle of beer left over from the early show. The hall is dimly lit, so we would have never seen it if we had looked, but neither one of us was happy. I guess they don't wipe things down in between shows. Actually, they don't even pick up very much. Both my teens made comments about the hall being "messy". And coming from my teens, that's saying something, neither one of them is a neatnik!
The food takes forever, it was cold when we finally got it, the waiter disappears on a regular basis, I got one glass of water, never asked about a refill, or if we needed anything else for that matter. I could go on and on.
The show, what can I say about it. What country western and American pride has to do with Arabian Knights, I'm still trying to figure out. Poorly organized, long and drawn out in places. We got so tired of the one girl dancing with her veils, and it seemed to happen over and over and over.
Bottom line is that without a great deal of improvements, I would not recommend this show. I've been to other shows and can't help but compare. Dixie Stampede in Tennessee was heads and tails above this and quite a bit cheaper.
Like I said, it's my opinion, take it for what it's worth.

THANK YOU ,, MY DAUFGHTER PICKED THAT SHOW FOR HER BIRTHDAY DINNER,,BUT WE WILL RE-THINK IT NOW.

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. I have gone to the show and while I agree that the dinner wasn't anything great, the hall was clean and the server was wonderful. I agree with the getting there so early. I think it is to have a captive audience for the cash bar and also to try and sell the "backstage tour". The group I went did this and while it was fun, it wasn't worth the price they charged just to see the horses up front, 'specially since they were getting many of them ready for the show.

I did enjoy the show. I agree that there are parts that don't make much sense but I thought the horsemanship was really good.

Since we went to the first show we didn't need to worry too much about the cleanliness aspect...they were just opening.

As for the smoking, I didn't notice it during the show. At the waiting part they had a seperate area for smoking. But the smoking will be a moot point come January when the new smoking amendment goes into effect...people will not be allowed to smoke indoors.

Hope the rest of your trip was better.

Sorry you didn't have a good time. I know what it is like to want something to be great and then experience a let down. But I do appreciate the wonderful comment made about Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, TN. Not too far from where I live!!!

I agree about waiting in that outer hall. I couldn't believe that they made us stand for over an hour in there. That was the pits. I felt like cattle being herded thru the building. For that reason, I'll probably never do another dinner show. I still don't see why we had to get there so early. We had children with us & the wait in the hall was not fun!

The thumb down says it all. I definitely will avoid this.

We have done both and were so dissappointed with Arabian Nights also. Will never do again. Medieval Times was sooooo much better!!! As was Dixie Stampede. Luckily we had gotten some type of "discount tickets" though it was not even worth that money either. Please try Medieval Times if ever you get the chance. Think you will be far more pleased!! :jester: :jester:

Thnak you. I will avoid it!

The show, what can I say about it. What country western and American pride has to do with Arabian Knights, I'm still trying to figure out. Poorly organized, long and drawn out

Possibly because the show features Arabian horses and that breed is used for just about everything. Very versitile horses.

There are two sections to the arena, one smoking, one non smoking. I am surprised they did not ask which you preferred.

I have no complaints about the service or the food. It was hot and, well, ok. Typical banquet fare. For 25.00 per person, I think it is a good deal.
