Review of the newly re-opened Haunted Mansion! *some spoilers*

Next you go into the parlor. The portrait is still the exact same (although it seemed to transition smoother, the old one was like a slide show), but the audio is GREAT! It's still the classic narrator, but they've remastered the audio and put in a new sound system, and it makes all the difference.

The stretch room is much better looking, although they didnt change anything in it really. The paintings are flush to the wall now, and when the room stretches it's much smoother than before (no more wall paper unrolling at the base LOL). The audio in here is great, and it seems like the "Ghost Host" is swooping around the room, instead of the fixed audio locations of before. They've also spruced up the corpse so it's more noticable.

Thanks so much for the detailed review (THRILLED to hear that they've enhanced Paul Frees' narration...the man is a genius, I swear), and I do believe that this is the first instance I've ever seen of the use of the phrase "spruced up the corpse."

Great stuff! I can't wait to see it in January!!!

I got to go on the Haunted Mansion the first day it re-opened. I also liked it, I thought they did a great job with it. A couple of additional notes:
Some of the old portraits from the previous potrait room are now on the wall in the loading area.
The ride did stop for me a couple of times.
I looked for the "ring" in the pavement at the exit, and could not find it (I have found it before), so they may have paved over that.
The line, though very long each time I rode it, actually moved very quickly! The first time I rode it started outside the actual Haunted Mansion area, but I still entered in about fifteen minutes or so.
All in all, they definitely did a nice job!

Only sour note...they still have the merchandise cart outside, and it was mainly selling Nightmare Before Christmas items, very little of the merchandise was actually Haunted Mansion related.

Do they still have the small ghost that you see overhead on your way to the exit that says "Hurry backkkkkk, don't forget your DEATH certificate"

I'd cry if they ever removed her!

She's still there. ;-)

All in all, I was pleased with the changes and sprucing up. I was so afraid it was going to have Mickey or Stitch or whatever somewhere in there! Glad to say, they're not.

We heard the 'wedding ring' was removed from outside. This is a different storyline than Master Gracey and a bride, I'm afraid.

I can't figure the logic behind the changes they made in the "staircase with the spiders" room (how it ties in to the story) - -but it's cool!

no nightmare before Xmas gang?;) nutz, thought they might "surprise" us!

thanks for the reports, really missed it last June.:sad2: Only 1 Day in Orlando in Dec, opted for U:banana: still can't believe i won't see it until Dec. '08.:scared1:

At least we'll see the DL version next June, will be fun to compare them.

That would have been a great surprise! We saw Nightmare at DL and it was great!!
