Review of new Harry Potter Ride??

I don't have computer speakers - anyone have any short written reviews for me??

Check out the many threads here. There are lots of reviews.

ok, searched through tons of threads about large people not being able to ride and lone lines have yet to see a review. Anyone have a link or I'll try utube

It depends whether or not you want spoilers. Click here if you want to know what you will experience scene by scene. If you want to be surprised, then suffice it to say it's like a melding of Spiderman, Soarin' and Dinosaur with a touch of Haunted Mansion thrown in, and you need to be cautious if you tend to get motion sick easily.

Wow, it looks amazing, I can't wait to go in Oct... with less crowds??? keeping my fingers crossed

Lots of good twitters today about this, it's just hard to get them all in one place. Hopefully more and more reviews will start popping up.

The ride is absolutely breathtaking. Universal has outdone themselves again as far as details, immersion, and overall game-changing technology. While the ride evokes the best of certain theme park attractions out there, it's still unlike anything you've ridden before.

And if it helps, I've never screamed so much on a ride in my life. :scared1:

:scared1: Yikes!! That's not too comforting! I hope I can get up the nerves to do this on my August trip, my son is counting on me! (He's 14 and this trip is just for the 2 of us!!)

I will need a major case of courage, I can see! :scared1:

Is it really that bad? Is it like a coaster? I've read some reports here and there and it didn't seem that bad, just amazing. I thought it was a cross between Soarin' and Spiderman...
I hope it's not that bad, because my son would never want to come on and he is a huge fan of Harry Potter... :(

It is more of a thrill ride than Spiderman. However, I didn't find the ride jarring or too stressful. It does have the scary components from Harry Potter.

I squealed a few times, but that was from an unexpected (okay, I knew it was coming from reading spoilers and STILL squealed :lmao:) animatronic "sneaking" up on me. Nothing in the motion is scream-worthy IMO.

Ok, so what I really want to know is does it have any sudden drops or anything similar to a "Splash Mountain" type of drop? I have no problem with upside down or fast I just can't take the feeling of dropping. I Love The Hulk, Rocking Roller Coaster, Soarin' and Dinosaur. Those don't bother me...but would never be caught dead on Tower of Terror, Splash mountain, The Mummy or Space mountain! So, I'm trying to figure out if I can do this ride.

There are no "drops" per se. You are on the end of a robotic arm that swoops you around a bit including points when you are on your back looking up and others when you can tell you are facing down. The motion is very smooth and fluid, however.

There are no actual sudden drops, but you do get the feeling of soaring down the side of a cliff. You're never falling - you're flying. Very fast. Almost straight down. Except it's all an illusion.

It's fast, but not sudden.

I'm surprised you can ride the Hulk and RRC, but not the Mummy or Space Mountain. The Mummy and Space Mountain are much milder coasters with tinier drops - the only difference is that it's in the dark. I would really say the Mummy has no big drops at all. Just a lot of short ones, threatening to be big but never actually turning out that way, and with zippy little twists.

I am the same way, I screamed like someone was trying to kill me on the first drop of Flight of the Hippogriff  but FJ was awesome. I closed my eyes and squeezed my husband's hand so hard throughout the whole thing, because I was afraid there was going to be a drop, but there's not, not a real one. Luckily we were doing baby swap and I was able to ride it again right after so I could actually see what was going on. It's an awesome ride. Have fun!

I guess it's just in my head but I hate that feeling that I get in my stomach when dropping. I was really scared of the mummy but it also could have been because it was the fear of the unknown. The "drop" right after it looks like you are getting off the ride is the one that put me over the edge. LOL
