Le Cellier (dinner) 4/22
Let me first preface this by saying that I have never had the opportnity to dine here. Wow, what I was missing. Le Cellier was great, we had a 6:00pm reservation and were promptly seated on time. Our server was great, she explained the menu and talked about some of the changes it had undergone. she pointed out a few of her favorites and even suggested some beverages.
We were 4 people. DW, myself, mom & dad
To start we had the Tomato Stack and the Mussels. The were very good and enough to share. I paricularly liked the bread sticks that they brought to us. There was a plain one (I think it may have been sourdough) Multi-grain and my favorite, pretzel.
For entree's we had the Mushroom Filet on Risotto, a NY Strip and two Salmon Entree's. Everything was prepared correctly and was great. We look forward to dining there again.
Passed on dessert, we opted for Ice Cream at the Boardwalk after a little walk.
Turf Club @ Saratoga Springs (lunch) 4/25
I had been to the Turf CLub for lunch on many occasions. The food was very good and the portions huge! We were a party of 12, so we tried virtually everything on the menu. For apps, the ones that stuck out in my head were the calamari and onion rings with dips. Nothing spectacular, but good tasting, consistent food.
I ordered the Spiced Salmon Salad for my entree, it was delicious. A nice portion of grilled Salmon with a nice dollop or aioli on top. Greens were dressed with another dressing and had tomatoes and applewood smoked bacon. Around the table I saw burgers, steak sandwiches and pasta. All quite large in portion and the sandwiches easily enough to share.
