I just wanted to post a review of the Carousel Inn and Suites for any who might be thinking of staying there. We stayed there for 4 nights--12/2 to 12/6. My husband, myself, and our 2 children were in a suite. My parents had a regular room near us.
The Good
It is across the street from Disneyland. Great location--maybe a 6 minute walk to the gate pushing strollers.
It was very quiet and the room was clean.
The second bedroom had a real bed in it for my son (not a sofa bed).
The Bad
I made the reservation in July for a 5 night stay--12/1 to 12/6. They emailed me a confirmation that included my rate of $144 per night. About a month later I changed the reservation to a 4 night stay. They would not email me a new confirmation--they said that the one that I had was still valid. I called the hotel a few times to request a room close to my parents room, etc. Each time that I called they would confirm my stay and my rate. When we checked in, they told us that our rate was $149 per night. I pulled out my confirmation sheet and they said that it was not valid since we changed our dates of stay. Then they said that they don't have a rate of $144 per night, only $149. It wasn't the $5 difference that bothered me, it was just that they were unprofessional and didn't seem to know what they were doing.
I had called ahead of time to request a crib for my 2 year old daughter. I called twice to make sure that it was a full size crib. They assured me that it was. When we arrived we discoverd that while it was a metal crib, it was the size of a pack-n-play. Too small for a 2 year old. Luckily, I had brought a blow-up air bed for her just in case. She does better in a crib, but the air bed worked ok. Just bugged me because I feel like again, I had been given incorrect information.
The heater in the second bedroom was broken and they did not know how long it would be before they could fix it--probably not before we checked out. Turned out not to be a problem because it was not that cold while we were there.
Lastly, they are doing construction behind the hotel. They started every morning at 6:45 or 7:00 am
The construction won't go on forever, but people should know this if they plan on staying there.
Given the above, I would consider staying here again because the location was so great. I just felt that they need to be more organized with respect to the knowledge of the front desk and the maintenance. I would be happy to answer any questions for those thinking of staying there.

How is the breakfast? I know it is continental, but am wondering if it fresh food, especially fruit? We don't need much (DD15 and me only!!), but would like to at least have something before we hit the parks!! She doesn't eat much traditional bfast food, but would probably eat a muffin or something sweet or fruit. TIA!!
