Review of the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Seaworld:
I picked this place after hearing great reviews from others and have to say I agree. This was a great property. It is usually a time share property but can be booked on a per-night basis through the hilton.com website as well as expedia.com (possibly others). I booked through expedia for ~105/night which was prepaid but cancellable up to 72 hrs before. I rented a 1 bedroom "villa"
Room: Being a time-share this is more light a fully furnished apartment. Our villa included a bedroom, a very large living room which both connected to a screened-in Lanai (patio) as well as a bathroom with a shower. The bedroom also had another area with an extra sink and a large jacuzzi tub. A fully equipped kitchen as well as an apt-style stacked washer/dryer. The initial set also included a full rolls of paper towels, a scrubber sponge, a small packet of dishwashing detergent and a small box of Tide, but oddly enough no shampoo/conditioner/lotion (not that I care, but after providing all the other things, it seemed odd to skip those things!). The kitchen has everything you would need to cook, a range, a full size fridge, sink with garbage disposal, dishwasher (with a small packet of detergent provided as well) and silverware, pots and pans. The living room sofa also folded out to a sofa-bed. The living room included a 50 in TV as well as a stereo system, the bedroom had a smaller TV. Both TV's had VCRs as well.
Property: The pool area was great. A waterfall, multiple pools, lots of chairs in a spacious area. A croquet lawn, tennis court (complimentary), and even access to horseback riding (for ~$35) were available. There were numerous activities every day and evening aimed at all different age groups, including a complimentary movie each night (fairly new stuff too)
Location: The HGVC is about 1 block from the entrance to Seaworld. A few blocks down the street is a Publix as well as a Blockbuster if you should be so inclined. It is a decent hike to Disney, but they will arrange transportation to any of the parks according to a sign in the lobby (we were headed to Sea World and Discovery Cove and had a car so I didn't really give it much thought)
Experience: Overall, a truly excellent experience. The staff was very courteous and worked quickly to meet any needs. The CD player in our suite was broken, and they provided a replacement the same day. They even called later the first day just to make sure that I didn't need anything else. The apartments are spacious enough to make you feel at home. Highly recommend this for anyone, but families would certainly love it with all the activities available for the kids and the TVs with VCRs.
