I've been diagnosed with cervical kyphosis (reversal of the neck curvature).
I found a website that explains this condition http://www.allaboutbackandneckpain.com/html/spinesub.asp?id=53
I also have Arnold Chiari Malformation 1, so last week I went to Denver to see a Chiari expert, the neurosurgeon that did my surgery before. I will be doing non-invasive traction during pt, and if it helps, I will get a home traction kit. If traction proves beneficial only while I am using it, I will need surgery. If my symptoms improve even while off of the traction, I may be able to avoid surgery!!! The doctor said for me the surgery entails cleaning up the degenerative disc disease I have, then doing a bone graft and using a plate to stabilize the curve.
I'm on an internet support group for the Chiari (since it's rare) but no one there has been treated for cervical kyphosis.
Has anyone here been treated for it, traction and/or surgery?
