Hello everyone!
So Im going to Orlando this week and everytime I go to Universal everyone tells me I have to ride the mummy yet I always freak out and never ride it.
I love these rides and can go on them with no problem:
-forbidden journey
-escape from gringotts
-jurrasic park
-ripsaw falls
-spiderman
-transformers
.... and some other rides
I wanted to know how intense the mummy is and if I should ride it? My friends say it's amazing but I always get scared!!

Thank you

Can you handle any roller coaster?
If so then try it!
It's not even all that inetense of a roller coaster but the main attraction is the amazing special effects!
You feel like you are truly there.

I dont do rollercoasters but I will go on The Mummy. Its an indoor dark tracked coaster and does not have any loops or upside down bits. Its fast and jerky, backwards and forwards with different effects.

We always go on the Mummy several times. It's not a mega coaster or anything, it's just really cool. You should try it once and it will probably end up being a favorite.

Finally rode the Mummy last month for the first time. I also would chicken out every time but I have been trying to experience new things and made myself get on. Made sure nothing was in my stomach and just went. There was no line so we went again. There are some drops but not huge drops some nice curves. I think my butt came out of the seat two times. The worst thing for my was the area being so dark and things flashing by so quickly tends to give me a sick headache. I just closed by eyes for a bit and was fine.

I have not been on Gringotts or FJ, I would compare it to Everest but not nearly as big or intense. I can only handle Everest one time per trip.

The roller coaster portion of the ride is probably over in less tha two minutes

Was going to guess it takes 90 seconds for the coaster ride

Time on the ride prior to that is basically moving on the ride to different sections
This is where you get the story line during those stops

For my experience, I found the coaster portion of the mummy to be similar to btmrr at wdw

Yes, absolutely.

OP, it is a terrific ride. My only regret is that I never use the standby line so I miss out on the back story. And you want the back story because it makes the end better. So find a short-line time and go in the main line. :)

"Not even the Medjai can save you!" This is my 10 year old's favorite ride. She doesn't do the big coasters. We've done this at least 30 or 40 times, once 8 times in a row.

It is more intense than Gringotts. It's over quickly. There's no loops. I like how there's no use of green screens. Love b in on it with first timers.

I agree with Damo that Mummy is way more intense than Gringotts. It's certainly not the Hulk or RRR, but it's still more of a roller coaster than Gringotts (imo). That said, it's been my favorite ride since first going to Universal back in...maybe 2008? Love it. Tower of Terror is my favorite ride at Disney. Mummy is my favorite ride at Universal.

I'm a big ride chicken but I love The Mummy. I won't even go on Ripsaw Falls after trying it once. I think you'll be fine- and if you don't like it, you don't need to try it again. I don't think it will completely scare you out of your mind based on the other rides you've done even if parts of it are more intense- there are no inversions or big drops.

The ride isn't very scary/intense nor is it the latest/greatest ride tech. What it is: Fun. It's my favorite ride at either park.
