Revamped Pirates Ride for little ones?

When we first took my daughter to Disney she was 3 and she LOVED Pirates of the Carribean. I was surprised cause she scares rather easily. But she has always liked pirates and had a great time on the ride. We told her ahead of time about the quick fall in the dark so she was ready for it. So that wasn't an issue. We went back this year while it was closed and being updated. But now we are returning in November. I was just wondering if anyone has ridden the updated version of the ride and if they changed anything that might make it frightening to a little one. She is 5 now. I am having a hard time envisioning what the whole wall of mist thing with the pirate ghost projected on it is like and if its scary at all.

We just rode it the other day and I had the same concerns with my four year old. I honestly didn't see that many differences from before. The new characters (Barbossa and Jack Sparrow) don't look scary. I was worried they would have flesh eaten zombies and skeletons like the WOD display but they don't.

The wall of mist is the only thing I can see her being intimidated by but when you go through it you feel nothing and I think she will be very relieved as soon as that is over.

I say go ahead and take her on it. My son loved the old one and was fine with this revamped version as well. He didn't act scared even once.

We went last week and our two-year old got a little scared during the drop. It's completely in the dark, the Jolly Roger warning "sign" before the drop has been removed and everyone screamed making it a little more tense. The drop goes right into the canons shooting. She was ok after that. We just kept an upbeat attitude and everything was peachy keen. Try buying them pirate hats and gear before hand, so they can be a pirate too.
