I am just trying to get my ceremony together.
I have emailed Rev.Tim with a couple questions but found he wasn't to specific.
How involved where you with creating your ceremony with Rev Tim...did you just give him a idea of what you wanted or did you email him very specifically different readings ect that you expected to have included in your ceremony?
How many reading are in a ceremony?
Did he email you the ceremony before the wedding for you to go over?
Lastly--I know this is probably a stupid question but what is a homily?
Thanks

We're going to Disney this weekend and meeting with Rev. Tim personally. I will post when I return of what comes of it, but we want something highly personalized.

We gave Rev. Tim an idea of what we wanted. We were of the opinion that we were paying him to perform a service, he may as well do it, and to be honest we had no interest in writing our own ceremony. We gave him certain peramaters to stay in (mostly reguarding our beliefs about god) and let him go from there. I think he did 2 readings. Over all our ceremony was short sweet and to the point, which is exactly what we wanted. We also got many compliments on it, although I will admit, most of it is a blur to me. We never saw the ceremony beforehand. When we met with Rev. Tim, he sort of dscouraged us from doing that. But I would think that if you want to see it, he would send it to you. He was very accomadating to us, and all our questions.

A homily (at least in the catholic church) is basically when the priest tells a story relevant to the readings you have just heard. So at the wedding ceremony, the homily can range from telling funny stories about the couple getting married, or a general statement about marriage, and the challenges, and the fun that the couple has to look forward to.

Rev Tim did our Sept 8th wedding and while the service he did was lovely and we received several compliments it was not the servide we wrote and sent to him. So my advice is check and double check to make sure you get what you want, but don't sweat it all that really matters is the two of you up there together.
